i have a 99 gs nt and i was looking into buying a star stage 2 for 2500 its a complete kit... 'everything included' will i need to get 550cc injectors and a big fuel pump ? what is a fuel rail... will i need 1 of those ? also could i just buy an intercooler and then buy in after market garret and make my own kit ? how hard would that be if its possible ? also i was gonna put cams and pulleys on it, ill still have to get the 1s made for the n/t correct, since my engine is a 420a and not the 4g ? please help me out with your opinions on the turbo upgrade thanks

you might want to ask the guys in the non turbo performance section as they have the same engine as you and probably know more about your engine than us 4g63 guys. I recommend you sell the car and just buy a gst or gsx to begin with. The 4g63 is by far a more capable motor that can take a LOT more than that 420A ever can dream of. And awd is nice too.

First off, this might get moved, i dont think this in the right forum.
I dont think i would recomend making your own turbo kit if you don't
what a fuel rail is. Also, parts like cams and pullies will be specifiacally for
your engine. Using cams from a 4g63 would not work because there totally
different engines. if it says all inclusive then it may include fuel upgrades
or limit your boost to be safe. You can't just buy a turbo and an intercooler and
make your own cause you still need all the pipng and exhaust manifold, etc.
Plenty of nonturboes ahve turboed there cars but its no different then turboeing
lets say a honda or another N/A 4 banger. there will be limits to your boost
and how much the engine can take, check out the nonturbo forums and there stickies on the turbo conversion

trust me it's not worth it. Either sell it and get an gst or gsx ... keep it and swap in a 4g63 ... or leave the car how it is and wait till 1 day you have a better platform for modding. Either way .. do not turbo the 420A .. not worth it.

if you dont know what a fuel rail is maby you shuld go to the non turbo section and read.

Dont listen to the 4G guys.
Go to www.hahnracecraft.com Here you can learn all you need to know.
They can get you 230 at the wheels on stock internals with there stage two.
The kit they sale is everything you need i know i have one.
I am currently upgrading to satage 4 but i started with stage 2.
Just so you know i was running a full second faster in the 1/8 than a modified GST!!!!!

the boy with gst had bad mods or he can't drive a met already to many people like that , but in 420 good idea is sell it
