Alright let's see there are like 80 different FMIC's on the market and amazingly there isn't a major of people that like a certain kind. Greddy, Victory, busclar, Indy race core, DSM motorsports, blah, blah, blah. So here is your chance to help a fellow DSMer out.
1.What's your fav FMIC?
2.What's so great about it?
3.What sucks on it?

Thanks peace out homeslices.....:thumb:

U SHOOD GET A GREDDY THEY RULE BECAUSE GREDDY IS FROM JAPAN AND JAPAN IS AWESOME IN JAPAN GREDDY IS CALLED TRUST AND THEY ARE COOL AND BY COOL I MEAN TOTALLY SWEET

The Victory, Buschur and IRC use the same core, the kits are very similar, why not just get the cheapest one?

i'm working on making my own out of 3 sidemounts and custom piping ala dejontool.com's fmic kit.

you far underestimate the capability of the stock smic. true its not the same quality as a large apexi core, but it'll cost me only $200 at the very most to get a complete fmic kit made.

with a top to bottom flow it'll move three times the air of a sidemount at 1/3 the pressure loss. and it'll be way more than my 16g will ever need.

hmmm....not very helpful. So far from I understand I should either get greddy because it's from japan and means trust or make my own. Wow I don't know if I could get any better ideas! Mmmm yeah....

Greddy Fmic is awesome i love the damn thing, great thing is its a greddy, its huge, looks cool, and piping included with the kit routes back to the stock smic location, only bad thing about Greddy is some people have overheating problems Cause it blocks alot of air going to the radiator, mines not so bad, but thats why you keep the stock smic for winter conditons so rocks dont screw up the fmic, and also for those hot a$$ summer days driving up hills with the ac on

 Cry me a river. Choosing an FMIC is not this hard. Don't make it hard on yourself. Like I ALREADY FU@KING SAID, you named three FMIC kits that are almost identical, the Victory, IRC and BR. CHOOSE THE KIT THAT IS PRICED THE BEST. What is hard about that?

And forget the Greddy unless you want it just because it's a Greddy and you want pipes that are 80 miles long.

Stop making this harder than it is.

I agree with what he said minus the sarcastic rude comments :)

Buschur won't fit your car.

But Buschur and IRC do use the same core.

VP is something custom, contact them for more information.

For a 2g, I would recommend VP first, or if you have time to spare, go with IRC. Both are great choices.

There ARE NO OTHER OPTIONS IMO.

OKAY. I'm about a month away from getting a FMIC, and before i really wanted those dayam greddy and apexi one.. but now i just think that theres a whole lot better out there.. I'm either getting the VP or HRC. Anyone have reviews or prices?

dsmtalk isn't allowing any new users to register and without being register you can't do any searches...kinda sucks

I have the HRC. And I love it. Heat soak has not been a problem, and Im getting no more than 1psi drop. The pipes are both on the passenger side, with the crossover integrated in the bottom. I paid $1099 for everything. Here is a pic I already posted on another thread, but Ill post it again for your benifit.

to comment on the "80 miles of pipes"... this is a bad thing.... yes it routes everything back to the stock location... so you save money that you've already spent on UIC piping, but this extra piping means a bigger lag time.... you have more piping to fill before psi can be gained... From what I've seen greddy sells a "baby" IC that gives you the benefit of a small frontmount, without blocking all the air to the radiator... I've also seen the idea mentioned about putting SMIC cores together to form a front mount IC... I think Turbo Guru mentioned this about a month ago.... the idea is in effect a good one, and quite cheap compared to the 1K price tag on some of the others... but yes the quality of the SMIC isnt all that good, but if you're on a budget this would be a thing to check out....
