How much whp can a stock 4G63 handle without needing to change out the internals?

i think the record is somewhere around 550whp . im pretty sure, but i dont thinks thats reliable. id say between 400-450 witghout shit stressing too much.

Depends on how well your taking care of your car also, if your untuned going WOT alot, you could blow your motor with 250hp, Keep your motor Cool with fresh oil and knock free and I think philipkrotch is about right. [of course there are a lot more things to take care of, but you get what i mean]

Yea I agree with G S X on this one with how you take care of your tune is what keeps these motors alive. Get a pocket loggger of some type and learn whats going on in your motor while you are beating the ----- out of it . Also a good EGT gauge and a fast pryometer is a hot set up by keeping the right fuel mixture. A 400 HP motor is just as relyable as a stock engine as long as its set up correctly and not guessing on whats going to happen.
I would not go anything above 425 WHEEL HP. Above that the stock rods, pistons and bolts start stetching, and at there failure break limit causing failure in a heart beat.
Keep fresh mobil 1 10 30 and use a turbo timer.
I know guys running t3/t4 turbos on the stock bottom end at 25 psi and that is also the MAX a sock bottom end can take. RELIABLY guys
