g force ecu again

I posted about this a few months back but didn't really get an answer so I'm gonna try again.

When I bought my car it was mildly modded and had low miles which is why I bought it. Well the previous owner gave me reciepts for all the work done on the car and one of the items was a "g force ecu" and it was like $650. This was done back in 1997.... Anwyays, it was bought and installed at TAD motorsports in Lake Zurich IL, however this place does not service street cars anymore and I don't have a phone number to contact them with .. besides I don't think they'd remember anyways. Does anyone know what this thing does? I know they stopped making it ... but I never found out what it did to being with. Is it an EPROM style ECU? I was going to switch over to an eprom and chip it .. but it might not be necesary to switch now ... anyone know what this does? I will give you a cookie if you tell me.

I am sure it just gets rid of fuel cut and rev limiter. It wont be another ecu so no eporm. I remeber seeing this back when i was a virgin to these cars and it always got a luke warm reception. At the most it may lean things out a tad and maybe bump up timing. You will need some type of real tuning device.

well I seem to still have fuel cut. I tried searching on yahoo and stuff like that and I found out a lot of supra guys used these but it doesn't tell much about it. For them it was $800+ so it better do something!!!!

Back in the day Gforce use to do all the stuff that TMO use to do for rev limit changes, fuel cut and such. Sometimes they even created a custom map for you. There is a local guy that did some incredible things with a Gforce ECU but it still isn’t as nice and the dsmchips stuff that is available now.

So that ecu is $600+ to get rid of fuel cut and rev limit?

hehe ok. Well at least I got some info on it. Are these reflashes or completely new ECUs? They are not eprom as stated earlier correct? I would like to get dsmlink in the future ... so I'm just wondering if another ECU upgrade is needed first.
