header from turbo performance??

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

These headers come with either a T3 or T4 flange, they will not mount up to a mitsu turbine housing. I have one that I bought from private sale for a excellent price, the header is new/unused (T3/T4 is currently being purchased for it). One thing that I found out is that the runners are not one piece, they welded together from a few pieces (I had posted it was in a different thread, can't edit it out). The construction looks quite robust, 0.5" flange on both ends, decent looking welds. Time will tell if it will crack or not, but I have access to a welder if cracks would develop. One downside is that it doesn't have a tube/flange to mount a wastegate, I'm most likely going to tap into a runner and welding my own wastegate tube on it. Finally, you should not buy this header... because it's HORRIBLE.

So does listening to all the he said she said BS trickle down info on most of these DSM sights.

I've seen pictures of this header. It has the sloppiest welding I have ever seen. I would never run one on my car.

LOL, you dumb@$$.

Let's see where you were wrong in your post.

1. They offer them in any flange you want last time I checked. Yes you are wrong.

2. Most decent headers are made from a few pieces, so you didn't buy a unique piece of sh|t.

3. Decent looking welds..ROFL, overstatement of the year.

4. Cracks, yes I've just purchased a $400 manifold/header, and I will put up with it cracking every other week on me. That's real bright genious. Explain to me how much you love pulling the manifold again? Uh yea, that's what I thought.

Now you've just talked about visual stuff, what about performance? Oh ya, since you're such the uber d|ckweed, you haven't even ran it, but are telling people to go out and drop a few hundred on one big lump of stinky feces. Congrats loser.

As for your second post, you've just added to the BS trickling to the UBB's, and why my post is justified as sticking 50% up the crack of your brown hole.

Calm down there chief, looks like I hit a hit a nerve of something, it brings a smile to my face that I invoked such a hostile reply.

1. Nope, they make em with either the T3 or T4 flange as I stated before. I just got off the phone from called them, he said he can send a mitsu flange with the order though.

2. They are made with 3 bends per runner, when you say "most decent headers are made with a few pieces" I just shake my head in shame... you just possibly offended AMS, Geoff and SPF's(only 2 pieces per runner but close to 3) design. So with these beautiful headers out of the running for the "decent header award" who's left, remember HKS, turbonetics, 1G and 2G are cast manifolds and are in a different class (they're not headers in the traditional sense).

3. Yeah, the welds aren't bad at all, I'm looking at them right now. They're not machine welded for a perfect bead, but the person who has built them seems to have a good amount of experience welding tubular pieces together.

4. By making the statement of being able to fix any cracks put's me in a win/win situation. I bought the new header for $275 from a private sale and for that price I will gladly pull the header to fit it. I can't say it will or will not crack, I haven't ran with it. The only tesitmonial I have was from the owner(I think) that I just talked with from turbo performance. There is a CRX that is running 10.2 1/4s that has been using the header for 2 years without cracks (they haven't been selling them that long even, prototype I'm thinking, call them if you question this). I haven't heard anyone that had a crack with this header, just "my friend did" or "I heard". When talking with turbo performance he said he will repair any crack for free, he's hasn't had anyone ship one back (don't think the downpipe is needed either as I was told from him and posted in a earlier thread, just call and talk with them about it).

Also, I didn't once tell anyone to buy this header.

My friend has this header on his car for about 5000 miles. We just had it off last week and it still looks good no cracks. Also if it ever does crack he can send it back and get a new one free of charge. And the welds do not look bad upclose.
