Hello, not sure exactly where to put this but...I have a 1995 eagle talon TSi fwd with about 154,000 miles on the car/engine and lately when i go to take off just normal at a stop sign the car will leave a puff of blue smoke behind it. I know thats oil being burned but I dont know what would be the problem making it burn it. Also I have a 14B on there that I think also burns oil because when I get into the turbo at WOT blueish smoke comes out of the exhaust the whole time the turbo is spooled. I also have an oil leak. My question to the tuners is should I buy the complete rebuild kit from slowboy racing and rebuild it or what? Also should I go ahead and get a small 16G to replace the 14B. Please help me on this decision and let me know all that I should do because I am going to begin saving now. Thanks.

if its just my turbo seals how do i fix that? or is it just worth it to buy a 16g evo manifold? what all would i need to do a 16g setup? how do u do a leakdown test?

Stock compression should be almost 180, one or two more or less maybe. When pouring oil into the cylinders, use just a capful, and give it a second to flow towards the walls.

sorry for the wrong PSI's...i didnt do it right i didnt hold the throttle open but i edited the new test results into the post....what could be the problem...those are almost the stock 178PSI readings.

those comp. #'s aren't too hateful, with decent compression, and your description, it sounds like a combonation of turbo gone bad and old VALVE SEALS. The 4g63 valve seals get hard and dryrotted and oil leaks past them. My car smoked bad when i got it with 140k on it but valve seals got rid of the smoke. With bad rings you would probobaly have around 100 psi comp. guesstimate. hope this helps,
PS: valve seals will only cost you about $15 maybe less Good luck.

so i can just reaplce the valve seals and this could fix the problem? my intake pipes dont have any oil in them so i dont think its the turbo either. how hard is it to replace the seals and do i need a special tool to do this?

Well your gonna need a rebuild kit. I don't recomment rebuilding a 14b turbo. The turbine housing is probably cracked a bit, not to mention it has a 6cm housing.

A rebuild would run you around $200.
I would just sell it on ebay you could get like $75 out of it, and go with something bigger, trust me you won't regret it.

Bigger turbos are fun :D

i was seriously thinkin about a small 16g but... what supporting mods would i need or could i use the stock mani with it? or do i need a new mani and wastegate and all?

16g's come with the wastegate, etc.

And yes you can use your stock manifold, you have a 2g.
You may wanna consider port matching it to the 16g.

As far as supporting mods, if you stick to stock psi's you can get away with stock fuel components.
If you want to start upping those pressures, 1g bov, fuel pump, and a higher flowing exhaust are definetely recommended.

sounds good then Ill prob do that and replace the valve seals and hopefully no more oil burn...
what do i need to replace the valve seals? some type of machine? or how do i go about doing that?
