i have a 1g exhaust manifold and it has some hair line cracks....so the thought of a nused 2g manifold poped up...i know it has the flange for the t25....i want to go for the big 16g, do i need an adapter plate in order to use it? other thing is can i use the 1g downpipe? if i have to get an adapter plate i think im going to pass on the 2g manifold and just go ported with the 1g

the 1G 2G and evo 3 exhaust manifolds all use the same Mitsu turbine bolting patern, so a T25 13G T28 16G 20G will all bolt to all these different manifolds, the ones that will not are true Garret turbos.

my manifold has hairline cracks and a fuge guoges taken out of it, and i don't see the need to "upgrade" it untill i notice boost is being affected.

ok thanks for that info....what about the downpipes, can i mate a 1g DP to a 2g exhaust manifold?

Agreed with DOnkey 100%...you dont need to worry about crack in the inside at all, and if they're on the outside just make sure they aren't leaking. It would benefit you to get a 2g manifold anyway, and it will be less prone to the 1g manny cracking issue as well. I have a ported 2g manifold on my big 16g and its great. Im actually going to the track tonight for the first time to see what I can post.

The DP doesn't bolt up to the manifold. It bolts to the o2 housing which bolts to the turbo, which bolts to the manifold. The stock downpipe and o2 housing bolt up perfectly to the 16g, so your fine. BUT...that is also going to be a big restriction as well. When building the exhaust (if in steps) you should go from the muffler up to the turbo, so if our strpped for cash then the stock stuff will work fine. Just saying all this, because an nice manifold, o2 housing and turbo back exhaust will make that turbo feel completely different in spool up and power output...Good luck

no no no...you can use all the 1g stuff. The o2 housing and downpipe will fit perfectly on the 16g, no worries mate...:dsm:
