i bought this, is this a 1g?

im sorta getting irritated because i got this on ebay and they said it was to fit 1g/2g but i figured why would anyone port out a 1g manifold??

Here are the pics the whole thing is ported/polished and opened to 7cm....


even if this is a 1g manifold, will it still be an upgrade for my t28 over my stock 2g manifold? (i have a 1999gst) and i got a ported fpt28 with the 7cm opening.

I guess noone realizes they can buy NICE carbide bits for $40, port there own (2G > 1G) manifolds; as well as pick up a skill and port/grind anything else they damn so please all for less then buying another manifold....

i run my original over 230k mile stock 1g manifold that i hogged the shit out too, bigger then a 2g ported that ive seen and with no cracks and i would seem to think it works fine.

Looks like a damn good port job to me. Definetely better than a stock 2g.

Quicker spool to boot, higher gas velocities.
It will still outflow your t28 by along shot. The manifold wouldnt be a restriction till the 400pony range.

If your really hellbent over it, just resale it.
I don't see why though. The manifold looks amazing!!

it either brand new or its spent time in a sand blaster, the exterior of that metal have never been over room temperature. People buy new 1g manifolds.

my 1g manifold is ported out that big with 225k miles on it and has yet to crack, well almost 2 years since i ported it, that new one looks great and i wouldnt worry about it at all. how much did u pay for it anyway? j/w

well since you allready have it slap it on there and work on porting the 2g manifold that you have and then swap them if you want or dont worry about it.
