Princeton,
Has anyone checked out magnus latley and come across their 4G64 hybred. It's a 2.4 liter that they are claiming is gods gift to 4G63 owners looking to do a motor swap. If anyone has any more info or comments on this send em my way

I just noticed that on there site last night. Says you will get 100lbs more torque with the higher displacement. Sounds sweet but a little pricy.

is the price on the site for the block and head or just the head?

Marco is selling 6bolt 4g64s. Its not a stroker its a whole new motor. It’s a much better design than trying to use a 64 crank in a 63 block. As for the performance… Mine is on the way I will let you know when I get it installed and tuned in a few months.

I don’t know what that means. But I just bought the shortblock. You can check the website for the specs. I was happy with the price. The 64 was only a slight premium when you compare what most shops charge for a ross/crower motor.

Is this an import thing? Do you guys not know what a stroker motor is? I'll give you a hint. It has NOTHING to do with the cylinder head.

Regards,

Lol. What I ask had nothing to do with cylinder head. I was asking if it was turn key, a complete engine including all electrical. Pretty much an engine you can just drop in and turn the key and it starts. Or Long block, which an engine without any electrical. Jus the bottom end and interenals, with the head. I'm guessing it's something along that lines, meaning you have to use your own ignition system and intake setup. Yes the termanology I used was from the V8 world, but it should still apply here to the import world. And and engine is an engine. Either way, I'm jsut looking for some info on this setup. Thanks.

I also find this interresting. Please post the link, or more info. I have found good deals on bored out blocks with crower rods, pistons and rings, "the cranckwalk solution." I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I was also looking into a ported head for the 2g, but haven't found any yet. Looks like I'm gonna have to have mine done.

Marcus

Maybe I am not explaining this properly this is a direct drop in you just take out your 6bolt 63 bottom end and drop in the 6bolt 64 bottom end. All the wiring etc is exactly the same.

Actually I'm a new DSMer. Had my ride for a little over a month. Had no idea there was a difference in the 2 blocks. Thanx for clearing things up, while being a jackass at the same time.

The 2.4 is the block out of the non-turbo spyders right? So will the turbo head just bolt right on?

When installing the 4G64 you will need to install the 4G64 DOHC camshaft sprockets onto your 4G63 cylinder head. There is a plate on the 4G64 behind the timing belt idler pulley that must be removed. There are also 5 holes that will need to be plugged off, do not worry, these holes are not important and will not harm the engine by plugging them off...see picture...
