Tons of problems with my tranny.

Ok so I have an idle problem (who doesn't) so sometimes i will have to put the car in gear at like 1000-1500 and it makes this huge clunk noise when it drops into gear, but if I put it in reverse at the same rpm it doesn't clunk. It will go into reverse smoothly but when it does it makes a different clank noise which sounds like some sort of metal piece doing something.

Also when I get up around 6000 my tach just starts freaking out. It will go steadily up to it but once it gets around there it suddenly jerks back and fourth throughout the whole tach.

And I've never really been able to go WOT because when I do do this it gets up there and is so loud that I think my engine is going to blow... Just the other day to test this I put it on the floor from a stop, it took of nicely as expected but then I get the tach problem and redline for about 3 seconds and it didn't go into second until I let off. How does the engine know when to shift? I don't think it goes of the tach but if it did that might shed some light on my problem.

sounds like the car has some other issues to me. Does it still pull while the tach is jumping around? That would usually point to ignition problems. If it's stopping accelerating at that point that is why it is not shifting.

The clunk is your front and/or rear motor mount, but most likely the front one since it normally absorbs most of the "tourquing up" of the motor on take-off.

Check the level & condition of the tranny fluid.

The tranny shifts at command of the TCU, but the fluid level needs to be correct because it shifts based on pressure in the valve body I believe. There should also be a kickdown cable attached near the accel cable on the TB and it has an adjustable connection that needs to be within spec.

Can't help with the tach problem, I am only familiar with a 1g ignition.

This is all incorrect. More than likely the clunk is in the trans. I wouldn't worry about it.

The trans shifts are commanded by the TCU based on shaft speed that is read via the pulse generators. There is no downshift cable.

So it's not the mount? I will check the fluid once I get a second person, to me it sounds like something that would result from neutral dropping.
