Hey what cooler should I buy for a stock awd tranny? Do they come with all I need to install, or do I need other supplies. Also how many qts does a awd tranny take, and what brands do you guys use that work well? Sorry about all the newb questions but I just came over to auto from manual dsms. Thanks

You will want to measure the area where you plan to install it, and select the largest stacked plate design cooler that will fit there.

The better coolers come with installation kits.

The "dry fill" capacity of a AWD DSM trans is around 10-11 quarts with a stock diameter torque converter. I like the Amsoil synthetic ATF, but there are other good brands as well.

I hear so many things about what is good and what it is not. John would be the one to ask, but in my oppinion i use oem fluid. cant go wrong with that. I say a good flush every 20,000 = 30,000 miles with oem stuff should do the trick. A flush at a dealer is rather expensive, but i think its worth it, i just got mine done. cost me about $155 with tax and all.
