I'm putting my 6bolt from a 1990 TSI AWD (5 speed) into a '93 automatic AWD. From what I've read on all the DSM sites I could find, all I need is a flexplate from a 6bolt to make everything mate up correctly. I haven't been able to find much on a MT -> AT swap (maybe that should tell me something LOL).

Any ideas on a place to find one other than the dealer is also appreciated, as well as any install tips :D

There is really no tips needed. It's pretty straight forward. You answered your own question. You just need a 1G 6 bolt Flexplate. Put some wanted ads up on the classifieds or something. Mating a 1G to a 1G is not anything different. Now mating a 6 bolt to a 2G auto tranny is a challenge. On your 1G you just swap your flywheel out with a flexplate. That's pretty much it.

putting a manual motor in you will have to do something aout the dowel pin that sticks out so you can line up a flywheel. there is no hole in the flex plate for it.
are you talking about the dowels that align the tranny to the block? because he's talking about putting a 93 auto tranny onto a 6 bolt that originally had a 5 speed. He doesnt need any dowel pins for the flywheel because he wont have one. Its just the flexplate and the torque converter that needs to be bolted together
