SIRIUS or XM?????

Which do you have? If you dont have it, which one would you get if you did? I have XM but XM sucks...Im switching to SIRIUS!

i listened to sirius for the first time yesterday at my friends house and it was pretty awesome, im definetly looking into gettng it. i have never heard xm before tho.

Trust me...I have XM right now...I would go with SIRIUS....Im pulling all my XM stuff out! You will be very happy with SIRIUS.

yep, and like the nutbag above, when you start to use sirius you grow this infactuation for it, you tell everyone how amazing it is, everytime i turn it on its so great, anyone that wants to try it out, go to www.sirius.com then go to the top where it says listen,

enter your email (i didnt get spam so dont worry) and you can listen for twenty min, (if you change stations it restarts)

Yes SIRIUS is the bomb. I got into them at .65 a share! So you know Im happy right now! And I got into XM at 6.50 a share. Im not gonna sit here and knock XM, but honestly SIRIUS does have the better product.

I dont think theres much difference between the two. I have XM, but I havent heard Sirius. XM for me has been real good. Reception fades when on mountian roads and around tall buildings- and even under bridges. It has, waht i like to call "shock protection", of a little less than a second. If they inprove this (i have the roady version), then I would have no complaints at all.

Anyone with Sirius have these problems?

You have fade outs cuz XM has 2 Satellites that sit on the equator and dont move with over a thousand ground repeaters. SIRIUS has 3 roaming satellites that go in a figure 8 motion all the way down to south America and up to Canada and they only have a 100 ground repeaters. SIRIUS is better. I have a friend in the military who is in Cuba and he has a SIRIUS PnP Unit and he gets his signal down there.

I quite like XM better, only due to the programming guide though. I dont care much for Sirius' programming honestly.

Im an employee at Best Buy in the Carfi department, so i play with the stuff everyday. Although, i will say, the techno/trance channels on Sirius ROCK.

Things are about to change though.

We got an email from XM coroporate saying that VERY soon XM will be going commercial free and adding more channels.

As much as you guys like Sirius, they dont quite hold a candle in popularity to XM. Most likely because XM was around first, and is cheaper. And with XM going commercial free with MORE channels, im interested to see how Sirius fares in the future

I can honestly say I've never heard XM more than about 30 mins but what I heard of it was ok. Now I've actually had Sirius For a while and I've loved every minute of it until I get on a back road and then the shit cuts out and I'm starting to get pissed. Cause the road it cuts out on is the road I drive everyday to work.

XM will most likely raise their prices opnce they go commercial free

on the 19th this month sirius will be adding an additional 9 channels i htink it is.

By Programming guide you mean mislabeling words, you have to listen to xm and sirius at diff times, diff djs till you can tell about the Music.

ive only had sirius cut out a couple times for me. once in a carwash, the other under a big bridge, if you disconnect the antenaa cable from PNP1 youll see that it has a memory of like four seconds i think. ill test again.

Yes XM is going commercial free in February..but....that means eventually they will raise thre price because no more money from advertisements thus meaning they need to find cash to keep the company going because they are not even profitable yet, plust if you get a year subscription of SIRIUS they give you 2 months free which knocks there months subscription from 13 to 10. XM also broadcasts playlists from terrestrial radio stations?!?! That sht is terrible...why pay for something you can hear for free.

and not to be a dck, but SIRIUS wont sell a lot because obviously you dont know everything about satellite radio. See you think SIRIUS is more expensive but Im sure you didnt know about the 1 year subscription. There is a lot more SIRIUS has the upper hand on but Im not gonna make a long post.

Sirius did just add more channels, yes.

Also, ive been told by a fellow employee that Sirius is teaming up with a certain manufacturer to bring you guys satellite TV in the car. Thats pretty freaking cool if you ask me

um yea, and if people like listening to trance and dance you actually recomend them to XM? saving a couple bucks to listen to Commercials, and to get music thats quality is much less isnt worth it. you play xm for them and they like it. how about playing sirius so they can love it?

sirius does have a lifetime subscription so theres one more on them.

XM Has The Name, They Own it, They have quality over radio, but are they as good as sirius. no, are their 70's music better than sirius yes, but well see what happens the 19th when sirius unleashes their new stations.

Sirius just celebrated its 200,000 customer

XM is past 1,000,000

I'd like to see Sirius play catch up hardcore.

And i believe some car rental companies also have XM in their rental cars. I have people come in all the time and tell me they heard XM in florida on vacation, and they love it.

People do listen to both here at the store. And they choose XM. You Sirius guys are the few, the proud.

for every sirius activation we get, we have about 5 xm.


But yeah, we'll see what happens in the near future.

ok....think about how long XM has been out...now think about how long SIRIUS has been out. that should solve why more people have bought XM.

They have both been out about the same time...but....SIRIUS had problems with there chips that Lucent made which caused them to fall behind and not get there product out there.

ALL IN ALL THEY ARE BOTH GREAT COMPANIES....Yes XM may not raise there price now but since they are going commercial free they have lost money from advertisements thus meaning they need cash...thus explaining why today they filed to issue 7 Million More Shares of there Common Stock which has made the stock fall 2.00 a share alone today. If you dont believe me go to MSN.com and type in XMSR in the stock symbol and read up on it.

XM is starting to feel the heat coming from SIRIUS. Again they are both great...XM had the jump start...SIRIUS is about a year behind. If you chart both companies on what they have done since there products have been out...SIRIUS is just about the same as XM was a year ago.

XM all the way. I have had XM for about 2 years (give or take) and never had a problem with it at all. No signal fades, no crappy equipmnet, just a great experience. That is the same for about 15 friends of mine that all have XM. It just says something for XM to have over a million customers and Sirius only at 200K. And for all of you who complain about the price, it's just 10 bux. That's the price of 2 value meals at McDonalds. Not a big deal. my .02

i get in my car, im going to work, turn on the fm radio, i get to listen to commercials alllll the way to work. i want to hear music, not radio, and dont bother saying change the stations, cause all those have either, crappy music, or more commercials, gaureteed, always happens.

MAO...Get your numbers right ok...XM has 1.36M Subs...SIRIUS has 261,000......SIRIUS is a year behind XM that is why there is a big gap.....


but thanx for trying. Keep your XM...then when SIRIUS starts streaming Video next year....you might change your mind. I have XM right now and it sucks balls...they even edit the music....SIRIUS doesnt even edit theres.

Yes, Sirius will be doing streaming video soon. That is AWESOME. i cant wait to see what it will be like.
