I am getting the sparco seats and rails tomorrow i was wondering if anyone has installed sparcos in their eclipse before. Please let me know how to do it if anyone has done this install. Even though it seems prettty easy, but nothing is~ (95 gst)

Hope they turn out ok. I'd heard they changed the brackets from when I bought mine.

On my set, which was the base, side-mount adaptors, sliders, and side-mounts (for my evo2 seat) there were three problems:
- way too high. My head was about hitting the roof. No way to get helmet in there, which I need for open-track events. I'm only 5'10".
- angle felt wrong. Felt like I was aimed toward the center of car. Also felt like I wasn't centered like I somewhat was with the stock seat. So aimed the wrong direction and seat-center moved outward releative to stock position.
- Due to the design, I couldn't really tilt the seat much using the side-mount holes (i.e. choosing different holes for different elevations).

Taking out the sliders didn't help too much with the height problem, and didn't solve the other two either. So, I returned the sliders (the shop I bought them from wouldn't let me return the adaptors as I'd hacked at them to modify them to try to get things to work), and then took the whole car to a local raceshop and had them weld the sidemounts directly to the sparco base. This only cost me maybe $130 I think. This put the seat just about perfect, with a comfortable elevation for driving as well as close enough to the wheel for racing. Wheeee!

Btw, I apoligize if there are any spacing problems in the above... my spacebar is on the fritz.

Oh, I also should have mentioned that a friend of mine installed some Sparco seats (I think Rev? can't remember the name) that were bottom mounts, which use the same setup as mine minus the side-mounts. His seats had all the same problems... but he chose to deal with them, hehe. Fortunately for him his torso is shorter than mine so he's just barely able to fit a helmet, but it's hitting the ceiling which is extremely dangerous.

I really appriciate your help on this man, I just hope that i dont run into a lot of problems. Im seeing it as you unbolt the four bolts on the stock seat that hopefully the sparco rail bolts right to it. It should work its made for 95-99 eclipse'e. But Im a pretty short guy and i dont think i would mind if im high up. (i go to the track very rarely) I just wish i could get somekind of a writeup just in case i do happen to run into a problem. Planning is everything. Thanks "TSiAWD666"

Hey, if it's possible, could you take pictures of your parts before installation? Also while they're on the seat prior to install in the car, as well as after installation in the car (assuming you get this far)? I'd love to see how things turn out for you :)

I know on my sparcos they were bottom mount and then they had 3 pieces you had to buy to get them to mount. It was actually harder than i thought it would be to install the stupid things. you need to assemble the three base pieces first them mount them to the seat THEN install them in the car. The directions they will come with are probably useless and very difficult to understand. But hey maybe i'm just stupid and had a hard time figuring it out. Once you understand how to do it it won't take long to do the second one though.

I already got out my digital camera and took a pic of the eclipse without the stock seats in there. I will deffinatly take some more pics for you. I am just sitting here waiting for the UPS guy to get here, and drop off my rails!!! They usually come around 5 o clock (eastern time)im just hanging out playing need for speed underground. Ill update you on whats goin on !

Installation went pretty smoothly, the directions were horrible so it took a little bit to understand what was going on. The seats are kind of high, there are three settings for where you bolt the seat into the car. I have it on the middle setting and its pretty high, but i love it. ITS A WHOLE NEW DRIVING EXPERIENCE. Just wish i didnt have a blitz body kit now, because i want to get whole new suspension now!! aahhh
