Project car bodywork completed!!!!!

My DSM started its life with me back in May looking like this:

Now, just 6 months later, it looks like this:

The car is a 1994 GSX and I have BIG plans for it in terms of performance. This winter it will be getting a 6 bolt block and the only thing that will be left stock is the crank. Everything will be replaced in favor of stronger after-market parts and she will become an evil strip car.

Thank you for the compliments. I bought the car from a friend of mine who lost control of it on the snow and ended up rolling it. For a roll-over, the damage was minimal.

As far as fixing the body, I am not a body guy, so I just hired someone to do the work for me. He would come out to my house and do a little bit of work a weekend at a time. Then, once all the body work was done, I contracted Bruce Sargent to do the paintwork. The guy does incredible work, as you can see. The stuff that I will be doing is the building of the engine, electrical, fuel, etc.

$800 for the car, 160k miles, about $750 in bodywork and parts, and about $2g's for the paint. I got a KILLER deal on the paint job, however.

Very, very nice! $750 in body work and parts? Plus 2k for paint? Damn! I had to pay 2.6k to get my Laser fixed and painted after my brother hit a deer with it!.. Stupid as*hole brother.. For the price it woulda been cool if I coulda gotten a paint job like that. But NO.. I had to sell my ATV to get the "normal" paint job on it. Laser red. Sometimes I hate my dad! overall I put like 2.8kinto this car already. Plus 2.5k for the car. I have to wait to do all my performance upgrades! Now, if my brother wouldn't have hit the deer. I would have alot of stuff done to it now. But, oh well. And he worst part about it is he didn't have to help pay for it at all! He never even said he was sorry. And my dad just said deal with it.

Oh, and to top it all off. The paint on the front bumper is starting to crack under the clear coat! And Denny says there is no way to stop that from happening. Is there??

No, there is no way to stop it. But did he use Flex additive in the primer, base, and clear?

That's gorgeous. Sadly, that $2000+ is why the top parts of my '94 are flat black. Sad, too- it's pretty damned straight.

I don't know. All I know is he took his sweet time doing it and now it's cracking and has little imprefections in hood and stuff.

pickup the new clear corner bulbs from sylvania's silverstar lineup. they are completely clear when off, but orange and legal when on. it will help get rid of that ugly orange glow on the front turn signals on both the outsides and right by the grill.

other than that it looks totally amazing.

Everybody, thanks for all the compliments on the car!!! I have had nice looking cars in the past, but this surpasses them with ease. The funny thing is that I purchased this car with the intent of turning it into a racecar and just having basic paint job done. But, as you all know, one thing leads to another, and I ended up with this. A show quality racecar

Unfortunately the real money is going to start flowing out of my pockets now for the performance mods..... But, it'll all be worth it in the end!

right now i'm in the same boat as you, all they carry are the turn headlights. you can check sylvania's website and see if they list any local vendors possibly, or they might even have a 1-800 number you could call to find out.
