looking for new seats

ok im trying to figure out what to do with the driver/passenger seats in my talon. They are both made of leather, and the leather has gone to sh!t. I was just going to go ahead and get them reapoulstered, but i'm finding out that reapoulstering leather is not a cheap job at all. I'm kinda bummed because i wanted to keep the leather interior, but for as much money as its going to cost for me to get these reapoulstered, i could get racing seats for cheaper probably. Well i used to see DAD racing seats for sale on ebay, and on dsmtalk they always had good things to say about them, but now i can't find them anywhere. If anyone knows where to get em could u let me know. Also if you know of any other seats that are priced more resonable than 500 bux/seat for some sparco's or sumthin. I'm not going to spend that much on one seat. also i hear that u need special brackets to mount these seats into our cars. If anyone has a link to sumwhere where they show how to make the brackets or just a link to anything with more info about this, then please let me know. Oh and if there is anyone here who would be interested in reapoulstering my seats without raping my bank account, then pm me or sumthin. thanx

you could just get this stuff called leatherette or something like that. its imitation leather. feels and looks just like it and is a hella lot cheaper.my uncle had a tear in his caddy and got it fixed with that stuff. cant tell where it is or nothing.

ok i realised that KILURV8 has a 2g, and ive heard that they won't just drop nicely into a 1g. If im wrong please correct me,

bclipse96- that's not like vinel is it? I'm still going to go around and ask more questions to some reapoulstering shops, but i do not want it done in vinel. Just seems kinda cheap to me. But im going to ask about that stuff. thanx a bunch everyone.

ok i went to a reapoulstering shop here, they are all mexican and so its hard to talk to them cuz they aren't real good with english, but he said he doesn't know what leatherette is, and the imitation leather they have was vinel, and he showed me some suede stuff, but neither of them were what i wanted, so im still stuck on what to do.

if anyone went to that site, then do u know if id need those universal sliders they sell along with the seats? or do i not need those? i've never boughten seats before so im pretty much lost.

the corbeau a4 is a pretty nice seat. and they list for 320/seat

better off saving your money and buying something namebrand. there is a reason those seats are only 130 bucks..because they're probably shit.

ok i don't give a crap what they "probably" are. You "probably" make more money then me and can just throw around that much money for one seat. but i also wanna add into this post, that im going to need a new steering wheel too cuz mine is ugly and peeling, ill prolly get one of those Isotta ones, but everyone has different answers on what hubs and whatever to use to install them. I planned on just getting the wheel from Nopi and they sell a hub for my car too. Will that work does anyone know? or will i need sum other crap too.

hahaha, no thanx man, i don't think 2g ones just drop into 1g's very well, and they totally do not match the rear leather seats cuz mine are in like a real light greyish tanish color. Plus even those seem to have little like cracks starting to form and i want whatever i get to look like new. but thanx for the offer

ok well i solved my seat problem, i found a place here finally that will reupholster with that "leatherette" stuff. 180/seat and i can use any color combo i want, im not sure what color combo imma use, if anyone has suggestions lemme know. I'm gunna change the car into all maroon instead of maroon and gray at the bottom, and im planning on getting bronze rims, i don't see many people with bronze rims anymore so imma go for it. So im thinkin maybe doing the seats in gray and maroon, i dunno yet tho, but anyway im out

I'd go straight black or black and gray on the seats. I'd leave the maroon on the outside.

that's funny, that's exactly what i've been starting to think. Imma prolly just do like a maroon paint job, bronze rims, and do that same lil color scheme in the engine bay, but then something different on the inside, and i was thinking black and grey, cuz the steering wheel im gunna buy is gunna be black and grey. Thanx for the idea tho!!

I think I need some new leather. Anyone have any idea what it would cost through Mitsubishi? Or anyone know how much some GOOD used grey leather seats would cost?
