Looking for a guide on how to install a security system in a 2g DSM.

Im selling my ESi and it has a clifford security system installed so I want to take it out and put it in the new TSi im getting. The problem is I cant find threads with any help other than on the stock alarm system. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't believe such a guide exist's.It's easier than you think to install an alarm, DSM's are relatively easy vehicles.And if your taking it out of a vehicle it should be really easy.Just hook up the ground wire first and the power wire last and solder everything.Of course use common sense!

actually it depends on the alarm. i know the first time i ever installed an alarm it had so many sensors and it was just nutz. (there was even motion sensors in the car)

that one took 2 whole days w/ 2 guys working on it. it was our first time ever installing an alarm. and some alarms can be ALOT harder then you think. while the basic ones are pretty simple.

i still wouldnt install one myself though id rather pay to have it done by a pro w/ a warranty... its just one of those things.

ALL alarms have pretty much the same inputs and outputs(basic or complex).If you must have it done make sure they know what they are doing, alot of "pro's" know little more than you and could care less about your car, at least you care about your own vehicle.

I do need to do keyless entry also, does that make things a lot harder?

Ok thanks, Im gonna start working on this tomorrow. I'm also swapping out all the interier from my old talon to my new one so this should be a fun little project.

what more info than that could you need? it tells you the color codes, the locations of the wires and the function
