I got a replacement windshield. Is this something I can do myself? How hard is it?

Kinda hard, and you need a few tools, that you prolly wont have. I was watching the guy that did my mom's car about 3 days ago. He came to the house in a truck full of shyt that he needed. Took him about 1 hour, and cost around 150 bucks for the window and intalation.

Let me give u an idea... scrapper tool to remove the molding, take off the wipers, and the black gard below it, pop the window out, use 2 different types of glue around the new window, use a hot glue gun with the special glue and put it around the car... where the window will go.. and put the window in place. Put molding back on, black gard, then wipers, and your set.

Good luck with it.....and Dont choke....:D

Yeah... but when he put the winshield in place... he used 2 handle suckers....... LOL. whatever they are called.... it grips the winsheild so it's like 108392743213 times easier to lift it and put into place.

This guy was a pro tho..... looked like he did it countless of times.

IMO: I'd get it professionally done or have somebody with experience do it..

Otherwise, if its your first time, I wouldnt do it becuz if it rains, you are screwed.. It will leak inside of the car while you drive etc..

yea like davidle said id have someone else do it, not saying you dont know how or you arent capable of doing it, but sometimes its easier for someone else to do it and knows what they are doing, and like they said about the person can have it nailed out in a hour....if you end up doing it yourself though make a write up for it:thumb:

The only tool you need is a sharp utility knife.Other stuff is urethane primer, GOOD urethane adhesive, and a brand new molding.Don't strip the old urethane down to bare metal.Make sure everything is clean and primed.Put a fairly big bead of urethane around the pinchweld(Too much is better than not enough)).Press in the glass.Check for leaks.Keep a window open for a couple days.
