ok i dont know a whole lot bout car audio. i know some of the basics but there are a lot of grey areas for me. i have a 10 bazooka sub. i think its the el 600 series. i know its got a peak output of around 400 watts. i need an amp but im not sure what amp to get. what size and power output and all that good stuff. sorry if this doesnt make to much sense or is a really dumb question. basically, what kinda amp do i need to power a 10" bazooka sub?:dsm:

First, wrong area of the board.

Second, I will assume that you have a Bazooka TUBE... since they are pretty popular.

Third, Bazooka Tubes suck ass. They are waaaay to directional. BUT, if you insist on keeping it, then you wouldn't need much to get some sound out of it. I'd say something cheap. I run a JL 10W3 with a MTX 4202 200 watt amp, and it hits so hard that it backed the screws out of my hatch, and made my rear view mirror fall from the glass after about a month.

Honestly, you are going to have some real issues with that tube giving you good bass. You will have to find a way to position just right to get the best volume. An inch or two off, and the volume will decrease by half.

Now, if you have a Bazooka SUBWOOFER, then alot is going to depend on your box. Do you even have a box? Is it 1/4" MDF or 1/2" MDF? Is it plywood? You will get MUCH better sound out of your sub with a denser box (1/2"mdf is the way to go, however, it is heavy). How big is the box? Most people put their sub in a box that is way too small for it... make sure it has plenty of room. Is it a sealed box? or a ported? Wat kind of port? Bandpass?

And last but not least, Bazooka Subs suck ass. Most of what I mentioned wont have much of an effect on a crappy sub. If you want to get any REAL performance out of your sub, look into JL, MTX 8000 series, Eclipse, Boston Pro or Comp series..

good luck.

its not a tube and ive heard the same sub i had before and it sounded pretty good. not amazing like a jl but it wasnt horrible. and where else on the board am i supposed to put sound stuff? there is nowhere. this is non performance and there was someone else who posted an audio question on this same board. i will keep this sub cuz i honestly dont care that much about systems, i just want to be able to feel a little bass. so like i asked before, what amp should i get to power this sub? name and specs. thanks:dsm:
