i was wondering where he got it from and if it actually cools the engine or is just for looks

I can help with both questions. First, one of the best sellers for this hood located here in Arizona, Trix Racing ... and if you view some of the pictures on the site you'll see that infact the vents are functional.

I think this is the best hood on the market for our cars, and as a result I will be looking to sell my OEM carbon hood and "upgrade" to this one.

Note, if you call Trix Racing tell them Pete with the RED GSX from Tucson sent you and who knows, he may do something to help you out a little with pricing.

Thanks,

Well, if you call VIS Racing and ask them about the hood they will take 25 $$ off the Trix price, And have the hood to you within two weeks by private shipper, and the question on cooling , the hood has removable heat shld, so yes, it cools to a certin extent, trix racing is selling VIS hood, factory is cheaper.

The hoods from Trix Racing look a little different, but I found the exact one on that car here: http://www.superhightechnology.com/proddetail.asp?invID=HDC-ME011
Maybe they're the same, I dunno, but it's quite nice.

The vents are diff, and that is not the hood I have on my car. Diff size and spacing of vents, and notice two vents, far right and far left, plus center. call VIS for Information, The website showed hood not on car, and then i recieved hood and was diff, evo style , but sweet
