I bought 6 1/2'' kenwood KFC-1677 2 Way speakers for both the door panels and rear side seats. And a Kenwood KDC-322 Deck with 50w X 4 capability. The thing is,Even after all that crap I bought,my car doesnt even sound as good as my girls 99 Jetta Wolfburg or alot of other newer cars with decent factory audio systems for that matter.Which is pretty sad:( Anyone know of something I could do,or tell me where I went wrong with this setup.Seems those speakers have too many highs and not enough lows, and when I increase the Bass a little I still dont get the sound im looking for, they kindve distort.Maybe a pair of 6X9's in the back will help, but i wasnt sure they would fit so i stuck to the 6 1/2,Like BestBuy told me to.If anyone knows of what i could do,please respond,I dont know $hit about car audio:confused:

To start off...your deck does not put out 50watts to each channel...that is the "max power rating" which is basically worthless. That deck probably puts out more around 22-24watts per channel. So if I were you, I would start out by doing one of two things..either get a nice 4 channel amp that does anywhere from 50-100watts RMS per channel (note the RMS and not MAX) for all 4 speakers or if you're a little tight on money, get a 2 channel amp that does 50-100watts RMS for just the front two speakers (being they're the most important anyways) and continute to run the rear speakers off the deck.

That alone should make a world of a difference because you'll be more than doubling or even tripling the power to those speakers and they'll be able to play the way the manufacturer intended.

Next, you might want to look into a sub setup. Even if you're not into big loud bass, a subwoofer will make all the difference in your music. I personally prefer single sub setups because of the weight savings and simplicity. If you're not into alot of bass I would recommend a good 10 or 12" SQ sub with applicable mono class D amp. If you're looking more for loud strong bass, look into a good 12 or 15" SPL sub, possibly in a ported box with an applicable mono class D amp.

Note that your system will only sound as good as the weakest piece of equipment, So consider actually spending a few bucks for some decent stuff if you want it to sound good. If you need any more advice or opinions on certain equipment or setups, just post or PM me. Goodluck!

you should run a larger power wire to the head unit, and an amplifier is also a great idea. Don't buy a crappy amp, because distortion is what kills the speakers. you CAN use an amp with a higher rating then the speakers, with no problems, as long as it is a good amp.... and don't use the 6x9's man
