Well my rims on my car currently are becoming oxidized from the clear coat chipping off. I really like these style of rims and am thinking about painting them. I just want to see what you guys think of before / after pics. Please help out and suggest..

Well here is the one that just might sell me.... so how would I go about doing this? The right way that is, so they will last!!! How long does it take, any paint suggestions(brand, kind to use).

yes actually I did, I don't have any recent ones of my car, becuase I got it lowered a week ago so I just drop those pics so it would look a little more like it. I am getting pretty good at photoshop, I guess hahaha! I might do it, but not right now. I think it looks sweet though! Escpecially if I paint my calipers red!

What is your budget like?.......if you haave a little bit of money to throw around get them powdercoated

I was thinking about that, could they powedercoat them black? What is the difference, and what is powdercoating? Where could I get this done?

powder coating usually cost about 40$ a rim, well that's what it cost me and my friend and two different places. Powder coating is better than regular spraypaint because the process that they use bonds the color to the surface better than spray paint can stick. If you do decide to powder coat your rims you will not be dissapointed. Oh and please take off that pinstripe it looks like shit.

I say powdercoat them a little bit darker then what they are now, but not as dark as in the photochop picture. P.S.- Loose the pin striping

Now which pinstrip are you talking about, I want to keep the big one, but loose the tiny one at the top. The big one I have never seen on anyother cars so it must stay!

Right now I am trying to call around to get the powdercoated. I either want them black or gunmetal. I plan on painting my calipers red next weekend, so I think they would look really good black!

I called today and they said it would be $300 for everything, prep powder coat, bake. So I am gonna put it off for a while and go for my injen intake. I will probably save up money throughout the year and maybe next summer get that done. Thanks for all your help guys!

black rims kill me.... to me there is nothing better than black rims....powdercoating would deffinitly be the way to go, & its not to bad of a price....wish you luck when you get the money, make sure you do an update

I think that is a great price honestly for the process they go under. I could give them my rims on friday and have them put on saturday afternoon. I want to so badly, and could but I just don't think its feasible. The process would make my rims look brand new, so I figured might as well wait till next year when I can slowly save the money when I am back at school and really have nothing to spend my money on. Thanks forthe help though, I am definetly going the powdercoating route, and more than likely they will be black! :talon: :thumb:

Or you could drop 30 bucks on spray paint, primer, and sandpaper/stripper and paint them until you get the $$ to PC them. There are articles about how to repaint your wheels, search clubdsm.org and vfaq.com.

Rather not ghetto my car. The rims I have on them now are decent and will be fine for a year, I would rather get them done right the first time then waste my time painting them which they are gonna strip right off anyways. :thumb:

Call it ghetto if you want....until you check it out to see how it looks, I'd reserve my judgement. I ain't talking abotu slapping paint on with a brush, I am talking taking the time to do a quality job. You might even like it well enough to skip the 300 dollar pwdercoating job. Lots of wheels come painted and not powdercoated, and a decent job will make them look very nice.

If i were you, id just paint them black and leave the center lighter colored.I wouldnt waste all that money just to get them powdercoated. Yea, and i know you think the pinstriping is unique, but i would take it off if i were you, but, its your car. :thumb:
