No,
You will have to remove the side panel.

You can get to the speaker by popping off the grill, but you cannot actually remove the speaker that way.

Also, popping off the grill is hard to do and still have it useable later.

I am looking to replace all of my stock speakers in my Talon so I will have to pull my door panels and rear panels to get them out? :( PLEASE...tell me theres a easier way.

Its not hard.
On a 97 Eclipse...it goes like this:
Front doors: There are only 5 or so screws, and 1 or 2 "push-pins" The first one should take about 10 minutes, and every one after that should take about 3-4 minues. Easy!

Rear Panels: Its been a LONG time since I did this, so I may be a bit off...Remove the rear seat bottom (lifts out). The door trim helps hold the rear panel in..that just lifts off too.
There is about 3 or 4 screws holding this panel in...as well as a few "clips" There is a screw hidden by the seat bottom, and a few hidden by the rear seta back...fold the seat back donw, and you can ge to it. This panel will take about 10-15 minutes to get the first one off, and about 5 for the next one.

Its not that difficult.

Good luck.

that's wierd, i changed my rear speakers by simply popping the grill off.......

the front mids tho had to be changed by removing the entire door panel.

Well,
you may be right about just puppong off the grills. Its been a LONG time since I did mine.

I was putting Dynamat on the whole car, so I had the panel removed anyway.

Point I was making was that even if you have to remove the panel..its not that hard to do.

I guess you can pop them off, but It may not fit the same when u put It back in. I took of the rear panels to replace my speakers, then took out the panels and paint em to match the car.
I got sony 200 watts 2 way speakers, very dissapointed. replaced them pioneers 220 watts 3way, sound much better and cleaner. not as much bass as the stock but its nice mids.

oh, also replaced the dash speakers with some tweeters and sony 2 way in front. I'm satisfied with my system. very crisp
