Front bumper removal, first time

I see lots of pics of guy's cars with the front bumper removed to show off fmics and stuff, so this weekend, I decided to try to remove mine for various reasons. I have discovered that there are a lot of bolts that are hard to reach (the ones under the headlights), and make quick easy removal into a pain. Is there any trick, or is it always this time consuming?

Yes there is a trick. Remove the 2 bolts you can get to from your headlights. Grab your headlights and pull reeeeaaallly hard. I actually fell on my ass when it broke loose. Theres a 3rd bolt on the bottom of the HL you dont need. After your headlights aree out you can remove your bumper.

Is this the same removal process for a 99 GST as well?

the plastic clips under the lights on top of the bumper are a pain. I used a long flat head screw driver and stuck it under the head and hit it with a hammer. It chopped the heads off and after the bumper is off just pull the threaded pieces out with pliers.

interesting... so is it better to break the bottom bolt on the headlights, or to break the 4 bolts under the headlights holding the bumper on? Sounds like both should be easy enough to do.

The four on top of the bumper are just plastic. Don't reuse them when reinstalling the bumper.
