On TNN they installed a flame thrower kit, to make flames shoot out of the exhaust. It was pretty cool!

-Does anyone know the name of the kit, or where to buy it, or how much it costs?
-Does anyone know how it works? (Does it have to make your car run really lean, or hurt your car in any way)

Thanx,
DeathBeast

it's essentially a fuel injector and a sparkplug stuck on the back of your car. It's getting to be a big thing in Japan, like drifting, but not quite legal enough for us americans :)

you get a power supply, a switch, and a spark plug. Drill a hole right after your muffler and weld or bolt the spark plug in. Then connect your power supply to that and to the switch and to the battery. At WOT around 3000 rpms hit the switch/button and you have a 3' flame

You buy a coil and intall it in the rear and run a spark plug wire from the coil to the plug and you can buy it at autoloc.com.Its not illegal to have in the us you just cant use it on the streets to toast the hell out of tailgaters

Not to encourage this kind of stuff, but I think pilotleston is right. A coil fires the secondary side (high voltage) when the primary side coil field collapses from being turned off. 13 volts isn't going to fire across a plug.

Anyway, there are easier ways of getting attention if that's what you want from your car.

no it dont add no power and i dont think it would robb much it is for show only.. at car shows you can do it whenever you want just dont toast other pplz shit and everyone will think it's cool, it is leagal to have just not to use on the streets just like Nitrus.. you can have it just can't use it on the street... at least not legaly..

as far as it hurting the car i have never heard of it and i used to be a die hard V8 Hot Rod guy, on a turbo car it will probly cause more backpressure causeing the turbo to spool up slower but i dont see it hurting anything.. at least as long as you don thave a CAT and you install it behind your O2 sensor and not infront LOL..

i have sold a few of these kits, and installed some as well. you dont need a fuel inector all you need is the control box a spark plug and a coil, I have one of these kits instock right now if you still want it. but it works just like he explaine dit on the show, push a button-it temporarily shuts of the ignition source for the engine to let fuel find its way to the exhaust, then all you do is start reving the engine, and the coil in the back will spark the plug in the exhaust pipe and you have FIRE

I am selling one of these kits on dsmtrader, check it out

all you have to do is tap a small hole into your gas tank rewire one of your spark plug wires into the whole, insert your key and start your car.... There!!! NOW YOU HAVE FLAMES!!!!!!!

JK.:shhh:

just my personal openion but i dont like the way they kit 62-1gsx is talking about works.. although it is alot more trouble etc. to do it with a injector it works better in my openion.. but thats just me..

(becouse whats the point of flames if the engine isn't roaring it looks stupid to see flames not timed with the reving of the engine..)

the kit is the same one deathbeast is talking about on the show he seen, teh flames dont just come out on their own you do have to step On the gas to make the engine rev up to spit the flames, (SO EVERYTIME YOU PRESS ON THE GAS YOU HAVE A BIG FLAME) and the harder you press on the gas the bigger the flame. All the switch does it cut of ignition sparks long enough to let gas get through to the exhaust, the you let off the switch and rev the car, so the engine will be roaring when the flames are shooting out, as did on teh show he is talking about(TRUCKS!) they dont shoot out while the engine is idling.

sorry for not explaing it better, but the kit i am talking about is the same one he is talking about(fromAUTOLOC)

i dont see how really

you just throw a ####load of gas through your exhaust. if you have a catalytic converter, yeah it'll plug that up, and your o2 sensor will read extremely rich for a short while.

maybe some of the paint on your rear bumper will be toasted, but im not seeing how it would #### your engine up. and yeah, not seeing much of a point either. to each his own.

i know what your saying and i saw the show myself, and i was NOT impressed.. mainly becouse you have to cut the ignition momentarly...

The only damage that can occur is from sending the unburned fuel thru your combustion chamber. You will wash the oil off the cyinder walls.OMG

couldnt u just run a wire from your battery, through a switch in the cab for on/off, then down to the sparkplug in your exhaust tip... without having to spray fuel? wouldnt it ignite the gases in the exhaust itself without needing wet fuel?

yes. In fact thats what most kits do.

Thats assuming you run rich enough to have some unburnt fuel exhausted out the back end, which most people do. However, it really isn't that much fuel coming out. You might get some "sparks", but nothing to write home to mom about. Try this. Turn on your car, and have your friend :)p) hold a lighter to the tailpipe. Do you get any flames? Not likely.

The reason for turning off the engine's sparks is so that you get a mass of unspent fuel in the tailpipes. This gives you enough fuel to send a decent sized, consistant flame out the pipes.

It does wash the oil off the cylinder walls. And if you use a turbo, then you bathe the turbo with fuel which is, again, not very healthy for the long run.

Moved since is not a engine mod, nor is it as mod to gain power.
