Plasti-dipped...cars?

Anyone seen or heard anything about plasti-dipping your car? I saw a few of them on youtube.com, not really sure what I think about them. Seems like a cheaper alternative to prep/painting it flat black if thats the look your going for.

My friend just did it to his Evo wheels. Great if you have ADD and want to change colors with minimal thought because you can scrape it right off if you screw up. The ones ive seen on youtube used a paint sprayer for doing the whole car but they sell it in rattle cans at our local hardware store too.
Looks pretty sweet, not so sure about long it will last... We'll be getting a lot of snow and salt here in chi-town in the upcoming months so thatll put it to the test.
