ok guys i need some help out on this one. i am looking for links web pages or any help on this project i found a couple of places that sell the nissan silvia s15 headlights for around 900 bucks is there anywhere for cheaper and i was looking for a front bumper to fit. the hood should not be a problem i am looking for an all carbon fiber front bumper and 1/4 panels. im doing the car all cf. please help i realy dont wana pay out the a$$ on this.

damn straight i am going to do it head to toe carbon fiber. then do a color coat to it. im not sure yet what color but the project will be started soon i will have pics for all too see i got a 1998 gsx.

you dont want to pay a lot of money... YET your doing a whole car in carbon fiber......

Carbon Fiber Quarter Panels r u serious? I've never heard of that!

Maybe u ment "fenders" instead of 1/4 panels cuz 1/4 panels r Quarter panels that cover the rear wheel well and are attached 2 the rear pillars.

nope thats why i said carbon fiber 1/4 panels im going to attempt to do the whole thing carbo fiber yea i just bought a set of s15 lights off e bay for 800 even plus shipping so there is the first step i am looking into some wide body carbon fiber front fendersi am trying to post pics of the car right now i need a digital camera or a scanner. hopefuly this week i will have them up. if any one finds a good deal on carbon stuff for my car please post the link. thanks again john

you know , go for it.

I bet 10 years ago someone also caled people crazy when they hearthen talking about a 4 banger rinning low 9s or faster.

People around here talk like nothing is posible.

yea exactly thats what i like to hear. im looking into a shop that does custom body work and bags for cars and mini trucks they think they might be able to get something done. i should have plenty of time to do this project i am about to get my license put on hold. im wondering what they will do for a 62 mph speeding ticket ina 45 a exhabition of speed ticket and provisional license violation and a 90 mph ina 55 ticket i thinks thats a yanked license. so i should have time to finish project carbon fiber 2003. damn guys this might not be so hard. i got the time its just the money taco bell isnt guna cut it.

I personally think this is total bullsh1t, you have a 98 GSX but you doing this to an NT????? And you can pay 800 for lights but don;t have a damn digetal camera.... I call BULLSH1T.

Nice dream though.

ok let me clear this up. i have two cars i have a 98 GSX just purchased from a friend of mine and i have a 1995 GS i am driving that car to school and work. my GS is pretty damn slow and pretty damn ugly at the moment. the GSX is in need of alot of $h!T to even run its curent residence is at my friend dustin's were it sits on blocks. my 1995 is about to be put up on a part out. it runs fine but the unibody is bent to shit and the car has no airbags so if anyone needs parts start sending me a list i might be parting this car out. i want to see how much i can get for it sense the salvage title wont get me much. oh and i just got a digital camera and it set me back from my project about 200 bucks i got a sony mavica sorry i dont have time to realy get too much done to the car at the moment i have only purchased headlights. and they should be here within 5 working days. or so they said.

i would also like to see the conversion. i think it would look hot. i was walking back to my car the other day and saw a s15 and was thinking how hot those headlights would look.

I just want 2 kno wtf is making ur quarter panels and how the #### do u plan on installing them with out body lines? LOL, cuz u kno u sure as hell cant mig weld em, u have 2 glue em. Man this is mind warping, GIMJME INFO!!!! LOL otherwise I call bullshit!

come on guys, its perfectly possible to do a whole car from CF, I personally wouldnt do it cause its too expensive, I'd just use fiberglass, but since he is painting it anyway, he can just mold the CF like fiberglass and not have to worry about the pattern, and I for one have seen many a custom kit car with complete fiberglass bodies that people have made by hand, it would be tedious yes, but no harder than regular fiberglass work, in the end the car would come out weighing about 500 pounds less(maybe?)but if he wants to do it, I say good for him, go for it, as for attaching it to the rest of the body....he could use a combination of epoxy and molding and I think it would stay fine, while your at it though, why not reskin the doors in CF too...that way the outside would be carbon fiber while the shell would still be steel so you wouldnt have to use lexan for the windows, It wont be easy, but it would be cool to see done

i wouldnt waste the time + cash on all carbon fiber for my car. its a nice idea but its going to be just like the cf rear hatches.

yes i have been doing some research and it is going to be a pain to attach the c/f to the car in the rear. someone told me they make a rear hatch from c/f. i was thinking about painting some of the car and leaving the c/f to show through in the paint schem i was talking about it with a guy from zbest its a paint shop around were i live he was talking about blending it like it was fiber glass. and painting over the seems with the design of whatever i do. i still havent found anyone who does custom carbon fiber work. so if anyone has a number or e mail address of some one to contact please post it. as for the doors i dont have a clue what to do i am up for suggestion. the lights will be at my door by tuesday of next week i guess.

there ya go i found some cars that have s15 swaps personaly i think its bitchen and a carbon fiber car wouldnt be that hard come one now guys lets not doubt me im a DSM owner twice over.

Hit SquidSkins for carbon fiber stuff for DSMs; they've done a bunch of CF OEM piece replacements, inside and out. Also, you might want to hit up GSXTCY here on DSMtuners; he's organized a few group buys here for custom-built carbon fiber stuff for our cars (CF lip spoilers, hoods, etc).

how much of the bumper and lights need to be shaved to fir the s15 lights? they look like they actually belong on the car.
