I searched and haven't seen one done yet so I'm doing a little write up on it. I went to H D to get the stuff to do the garage door molding front lip. When I saw that the molding was made from a soft foam rubber I decided it wasn't going to last long. At this point I drove back to my shop to do some other work on my car. While at my shop trying to get a piece of pipe off the shelf I knocked down some paver edging and that when I hit me. Literally and figuratively. So here it is my $10 front lip.
Parts:
A ten foot section of Paver/Brick Patio edging
1" sheet metal screws and large washers
black silicon caulk
The edging comes in a straight stiff piece when you buy it.
Cut out the x's to make it moldable
I started from the center screwing into the bottom off the bumper working my way out to the sides. Do not screw threw the holes provided in the edging for spiking it into the ground. Screw threw the plastic in the edging for a tight fit.
I cut the ends at 45 degree angles for a clean look.
If your bumper is old like mine and not perfectly straight this is where the black caulk comes into play. make a bead between the bumper and your new lip to fill in any gaps.
This edging is a hard durable plastic, it doesn't fade and should last a long time.
Here are the pics. Install pics where with cell phone sorry they are crappy.
