Idiot light "101"?

So I'm interested in knowing what all the non-visable idiot lights are on the car. There are 3 I cannot see with "key on" mode.

I want to use the idiot light as a dual indicator. For example...

Using the low coolant light when the alcohol injection kit relay has power going to pump. Problem with this is I need a sensor that does not illuminate in the key on position. Or the ground will back feed through the relay and energize the pump Until I have the car started.

Are there any idiot lights that do not illuminate in the KEY ON position I can use for this? I'm assuming there's possibly a low oil light?

Logic behind all this is I don't want to crap up the interior with a bunch of LED's poking out everywhere.

The only way an idiot light will not illuminate in the key on position is if there is no bulb behind it.

Take out your cluster and find out what areas are unlighted. If your car is a 2g then it's all #2 phillips screws. A total of 6 to get the cluster out. Two on the bezel, and four on the cluster itself From there it's held together with pressure clips. If it's a 1g I don't know.

I would not use an existing idiot light because your tying into it may hinder it's function. (your example of the low coolant light. If your pump is running and you suddenly spring a coolant leak... you won't know until your engine temp gauge starts rapidly climbing...) Find an area that is unused or blank and put your led there. Make sure you have a proper switch to indicate when your conditions match what you want the light to tell you. EX: if you want to know when your coolant reaches 100 degrees, use a thermister and a comparitor and some fun circuitry to turn on the light. The switch is up to you, and should function with your goals.
