Re-Paint One Color, or keep Black top/ Spoiler?
I have found the color I want to repaint my 96 Talon. The paint has bad scrapes and scratches, and is in dire need of a new paint job. I have found the paint I am going to use: GMC Bermuda Blue. a metallic blue/teal paint. My question is whether I should paint the entire car the one color, or should I keep the top & "mole cricket wing" black, like it is done stock. I am having a very hard time deciding between the two, and would like a fresh set of opinions.
Note: I'll be taking off the DOHC Turbo sigils on the sides, as well as the Tsi AWD on the bumper. (Trying to maintain a sleeper car look, even with a new paint job.)

I like the color in the sun, I vote to keep the black top if your looking to keep it sleeper. Just adds that stock look to it.

You have a talon and the black top and spoiler are one of the trade marks. I think you should keep the top black. My talon is all black but it came like that, I wanna paint my bottom a different color and keep the top black. Also if you are going to paint it, make sure it's a color you won't get tired of.

It's a Talon; keep the top/spoiler black.

I bought my car all one color because someone painted it. I wish it was still factory with the black top.

I vote black top... course, I like the original color a lot to. So I would just get it re-painted the stock color... maybe add some metal flake.

I'd say just go with the stock color so you don't have to repaint any of the sills, etc....

Two-tone It Is
Thats really the only issue I'm going to have to deal with... Having a different color engine bay, or paying alot more to have it done right. I'm leaning towards having it done right, so there will be only the one color throughout. I know that the paint job alone will most likely be more than what I paid for the car, but I already exceeded that with my first repair bill! I fell in love with this car from the moment my brother brought it back from Colorado, and this is my money pit, my pride and joy. No sense half-assing the paint job, eh? I have to agree with the majority who have posted and voted here, in keeping the car two-toned. I'm really excited to see how she looks! I'll be sure to post pictures after I get it done (gotta wait for Christmas leave for that, the paint-shop is in LA).

Yeah, like captian said, its a trade mark of the talon. When i had my 95 talon tsi, i wanted to paint the car a different color too, but in the end kept it the factory tropical lime green and Black top! keep it black up top

I agree, a different color engine bay would get REALLY annoying unless it was 2 colors that mixed okay (red/black, white/black), but not blue and barcelona red(purple )
Be sure to post lots of pictures once you get it done!
