Yellowed Headlights

Alright, guys, I've done about 5 or six searches and found multiple different ways to clean that yellow crap off my headlights, so there's no need for any "use that pretty search button" comments this time.

I want to know which of these methods, if any, will yield permanent results. I've used polishes before, and it looks sterling for awhile, then the yellow comes back. I want to know if anybody has had permanent results with their methods.

There is no permanent cure from what I understand. You might have to buy new headlights. If you decide to buy, I have some that are clear. Otherwise good luck.

Wetsand, then polish

I havent personally done it, but many members on asog.net have and are very happy with the results.

Won't the polish wear off eventually, and leave you with a not yellow, but very scratched light?

Not sure, I think you wetsand to get rid of the yellowing, then polish to get rid of the sand scratches.

Here is directions from a member on ASOG i found from searching:

Things Needed:
1. Very fine sanding paper
2. Compound
3. Wax
4. Alot of free time

Heres what I did:
1. Removed lights from car
2. Wet Sanded them (takes time don't expect to do it in minutes)
3. Rubbed on some compound till they started to look clear (this may take a long while take breaks and then go back at it).
4. Cleaned them
5. Waxed and Buffed them with a buffer.
6. Install and enjoy.
