Hi i just bought a 6 bolt and i was wanting to paint the throtle body i think thats what its called its the part that says ECI MULTI on it and i was wondering what kind paint i should use and do i have to primery or sand anything done before doing so ?

Well friend, thats the intake manifold. The throttle body is the little guy that bolts onto it. As for painting it, I just personally used some dupli-color black and just cleaned it with degreaser. No prep other than that. Then I also painted my 2g while it was even on the car. No problems at all.

so all i need is dupli-color black no need for primer gray?

Thanks

I will have to do it while i got the motor out of the car hehe make it alot easier for me

And this is spray paint right?

I have the manifold off in my garage and have painted that part as well. Just used some engine spray paint. All i use for anything on my motor is spray paint but it says it's good for up to 500 degrees F. Also for the heat shield i used the high temp spray paint and it has been on there for like 6 months and not fading yet.

but while your intake manifold is off i would send it to get ported and polished:thumb:, and it might help to do a little bit of sanding to make the paint stick better.

Just don't paint your exhaust manifold with that 500F paint, or it'll be likely to catch fire, given that 1500F temperatures aren't unheard of going through there.

ok thanks im going to pick up a can of it at the parts house and some clear gloss paint to make it shine :D and paint it firday.

I see alot of them thats painted black with white lettering i think this is how i will do mine
