I have a 1ga, and i would love to have the bmw output lights, the thing is, i've been reading all the posts about how to do it, and to be quite honest with you, some of the jargen im not picking up on, sorry if i sound like a complete retard, LOL.. :beatentodeath:

If I were to purchase say one of these from ebay

90 91 Mitsubishi Eclipse HID Xenon Diamond Headlight

HID DIAMOND EURO HEADLIGHTS MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 90 91

What Am I Going To Have To Do To Get The Maximum Output.. I like the look it brings, but i would much rather have lights that go on forever :)

I think wot looses me when reading posts is that i dont completely understand "retrofitting" :sosad:

What am i going to have to do to get the kind of output??
Also, has anyone tried doing that custom-dyi-halo for a 1ga?? Might sound kinda silly for a 1ga i guess..

Thank you for your time

Note that the items you linked to are not actual HID. It's eBay buzzwording to get the ricer kids to buy their crap. You aren't going to pay $35-50 and get actual HID. Add a zero to the end, and you might get the parts together for an incredibly cheap DIY retrofit.

That said, those WILL be brighter than the stock sealed beams... then again, very little isn't. The second link look better (IMO) but don't come with a wiring harness for the H3/H4 bulbs... you'll need to pick one up. For safety reasons, it'd be a good idea to rewire the new harness directly to the battery, and use a relay on each, turned on and off by the stock headlight wires.

A 'retrofit' removes the stock halogen projector and replaces it with a reflector/projector designed for HID output. It also involves wiring in the ballasts for the HID bulbs. It *is* technically possible to fit a VERY short HID bulb/projector assembly where our stock sealed-beam bulbs usually sit, and make a metal adaptor plate (someone's done it to put basic halogen projectors in his car) to mount them, but getting them aligned properly would be a total pain in the ass.
It's a LOT of work, and you're looking at around a grand spent, if not more. Also, a lot of research and measure-time invested to make sure the parts you buy will fit, especially if you still want to be able to pop the headlights up and down afterward.

Short answer, there isn't a drop-in-and-go easy-peasy kit on the market for actual HID for our cars. And you sure as hell aren't going to get one for under fifty bucks, even if one WAS available.
