YES!!! Ive been meaning to give you a call.... I didnt have my car last thurs-monday, so i just got it back... You may have saw it driving around lompoc without me (my buddy & I traded, I got his gsxr750) anyway, I got hooked on bikes for a minute there, so i was shopping for a bike in the surrounding area.... but I'm not sure where my priorities are at... Im very embarrassed with my engine right now, so i need to get down to business... I want to be pushing atleast 400hp out of this car... my goal is 500... but you know how that goes... Time is money, if you dont have the time you must have money, if you dont have the money, you better have the time... But this clutch is on its way out so yes I need to talk to your buddy for a quote...!!!!

Yo man its looking awesome, dont put on them mirrors. They dont look that great my buddy has them. I think the stock ones you have on look sleek on these cars, I have a set of M3 mirrors with LED's in them and I'm not even going to put them on anymore. Goodluck with whatever you do though man.

Looks great. I dont suggest getting those mirrors either, looks good as is :thumb: . PSId_OFF TSI, did you have your rear bumper repainted? If it was then in your last picture it appears that your rear bumper wasnt color matched properly when it was painted, it seems to be darker than the quarter panels, this could just be and effect of the angle of your car and the lighting.

Pray tell, what manufacturer produced that light bar, and what was its cost?

Yes, the light bar was purchased through that website... It costed my g/f 465$ shipped I believe because of the fact it was beige in color which was extra money.... when I saw a spyder with the light bar back in the day I knew I had to have one... and when I got home from a tour in iraq my girlfriend had already purchased one for me so I was pretty happy with that...

- as for the carbon fiber f1 mirrors... I really doubt I will install them... if I do it will just be temporary because I already spent the money on them... but now after seeing pictures of them on other DSM's I am really mad I spent 130$ for them to sit in my room.

- as for my bumper, like I said I didnt get a chance to wash my car before taking the pictures, there is a black soot covering the back bumper for whatever reason... it usually happens mostly behind the tires... but carfax was clean and I'm almost a 100% positive the car was never in any accidents or repainted from the prior owner... the car looked like it rolled off the showroom when I bought it.... but there is always a chance it has been, now that I look at the pictures again... I just don't know about it

How did the installation go? Does that function as a roll bar as well, or just the light bar? I checked their website but couldn't find a link to the installation guide.

6. Mark Vehicle for lower mounting holes:
a. Place light bar though trim panel holes. Slide the light bar forward on trim panel so it sits flat against vehicle flange, front of hole drilled in trim panel.

d. Reinstall front seat belt upper guide with 17mm bolt
Note: To prevent possible jamming, protect seat belt and retractor from metal cuttings.

9. Reinstall rear quarter trim panels and secure with screws

10. Electrical connectors for brake light:
a. Locate wire behind rear seat on driver side of vehicle. Find the solid green (positive) and the solid black (negative) wires inside harness. Check solid green wire with test light to verify operation with brake pedal depressed. Attach dark blue t-tap wire connectors provided to wires.
Note: Check the wires that supply the third brake light if unsure of wire color.

e. Reinstall speaker and speaker grilles.
f. Reinstall rear seat
g. Reinstall seat belt with bolt to floor.

Install Guides - http://www.deftracing.com/install_guides.htm

Thanks for the link, I looked on the page where they listed the details and saw:

"View the installation guide here: Installation Guide"

But apparently it isn't linked to the installation guide. I never even saw the FAQ's.....Duh.

I like the 10k hid's.. as far as the mirrors I'm stuck on what to do myself. I have the APR mirrors on my rs and it looks awesome but the car is kitted.. My gst I'm leaving stock body so I dunno how it will look, that's why I have not taken them off my RS yet... If you put them on your car please post up pics.

I was supposed to get my spyder back awhile ago, it was in the shop getting painted and the dents pulled for almost 3 weeks now. I'm going back home from college tomorrow and I have no car :(, sorry it was terribly off topic but I just needed to vent.

Looks really good! :thumb:

So you are retrofitting the HIDs at a later point? I just don't like getting blinded... Hahaha. ROFL But, it still looks amazing!

When you install the chin spoiler paint the front nose black, I think what i have is down right awsome on the eclipse. Ofcourse I didn't think of it first and copied another DSMTuner ... I don't remember his name or else I would give him the credit. I'll look it up.

Ahh here we go... Drift_SM

I do like that paint scheme... also I do have another ebay black bumper sitting in my room ready to be cut for when I order my FMIC... i just have to go through the ebay intercooler discussion to figure out what the hell I'm going to do, but always if I decide I dont like it in the end I can always throw the new bumper on, so we will see...

How did the installation go? Does that function as a roll bar as well, or just the light bar? I checked their website but couldn't find a link to the installation guide.

The light bar itself is sold as a light bar and is not a regulated roll bar, but there is a fairly thick steel tube that runs through the whole structure of it that bolts up to the car. It seems like it could take a beating on it if I actually were to roll my car, I mean you can stand on it and not have any worries thats how sturdy it is....
The installation took around 2 and a half hours... I had a buddy helping me with some things... Its very easy to install but, its just one of those things when you look at everything dissassebled in the middle of the project you are like what did i get myself into... but dont worry every piece is only 2-3 screws holding it on so its a very fast install...

- also I just want to point out... I had a set of aftermarket FOCAL 6x9s in there and they will not fit due to the mounting of the light bar... stock 6x9s will fit...

If you put them on your car please post up pics.

yeah HID's are nice.. they are kind of sloppy, but they are nice crisp blue/white light.. still better than my xenon hyper white bulbs that I thought looked good.... yes to put the mirrors in looks like maybe a 20-30 minute install if that so Ill probably just throw them on take some pics, roll around for a couple days and if I dont like them Ill just take them off.

Looks really good! :thumb:

So you are retrofitting the HIDs at a later point? I just don't like getting blinded... Hahaha. ROFL But, it still looks amazing!

I messed up I purchased this clean set of projectors off ebay... they discontinued them for awhile and then when I saw them back up I snatched them up... I didnt know they were H3 bulbs so Im kind of holding off on the whole retrofit HID until I get my FMIC and i take my bumper off and can actually install the headlights easiliy all in one project, the headlights arent too bad on blinding people, I aimed them down a bit so its not unbearable... thanks though on the comments everyone, I appreciate it!!

The light bar makes the Spyder look so much better. Not a huge fan of Spyders, but that is one sexy looking car man.

But you need to retro fit otherwise take them out. Nothing like driving down the road and being blinded by oncoming traffic.

But I dont want to retrofit

appreciate it bro

Please say that was spoken in a stubborn 4 year old's voice... I still love this car.

LOL yeah thats what I was going for, but like I said in my original post I have a pair of projectors waiting on a retrofit project.... I just paid 130$ for the 9006 HID kit which wont fit in my projectors so I will get some use out of them before they go untouched..... :beatentodeath:
