A friend is selling the following for 100 bucks:

Its a component AudioBahn set:
(2) 6.5" Mids
(2) 1" Tweeters
Crossovers
All wire

He said he bought it all as one package. Has some chrome on it or something LOL, "really heavy magnet", clear, blue crossovers, I don't know ANYTHING about this stuff so any help you guys can offer would be appreciated.

audiobahn unless its the top of the line stuff sucks...and even the top of the line stuff is surpassed by MA audio orFosgate mid level stuff....

right...look for something like polk audio, ma audio, fosgate, stuff like that...stick the more name brands...you can get a good component set for like 80 or 90 bucks

I just saw some MA Audio stuff for auction at ubid.com. Some 6.5" coaxes and component sets, and some more stuff I don't remember. At last check, the highest bids were well under $100.

Anyone who says Audiobahn sucks can come check out my Spyder. One 15" sub with 600w rms...metered at over 143 dBs.. When's the last time you saw that in a CONVERTIBLE with a trunk the size of a Spyder's?

Not sure what you other guys are talking about, maybe you haven't heard alot of Audiobahn in person. I'm a firm believer though, best for the money by far. I've used Audiobahn subs personally for over a year now and installed a number of Audiobahn systems and have been very pleased. Audiobahn's components aren't bad either, definetley as good as if not better than RF. I think $100 is a bit much for used though, that is about what they sell for brand new. Check out eBay. If you can personally find better components for the same price, I would love to see them.

Also, be careful with the Ubid.com stuff....not only are they not licensed dealers on most of the products they carry (which means no warranty) but also alot of the stuff on there is refurbished. Just a heads up.

no matter what get the MA Audio tweeters....they are like 3x3 with a huge magnet....they are THE best on the market but are like 80 for a pair....im getting them and i cant wait

I ALpine type R 15 with 600 RMS will blow the crap out of an audiobahn in a mustang convertible....we had a contest one day to find out....believe me.....audiobahn isn't the best....Though i will say they are the coolest looking of most subs.

You sound like a Best Buy/Circuit City shopper. You seriously need to go learn a few things if you're recommending those brands and saying "you can get a good component set for like 80 or 90 bucks." LOL. Check out the forums at www.Sounddomain.com for a little "car audio 101."

4G63dsmpwr- If you need some more help, feel free to PM me. I'd be glad to answer any questions and point you in the right direction.

No one ever said they are the best, just best for the money. You had a contest? What numbers were put up? I'd be interested.

Personally, I wouldn't think about getting a component set until you have an amp to push them. Even the power out of an aftermarket HU is not enough to push a component set efficiently. Look for a 2 channel amp that does atleast 50x2 RMS.

hmmm...this doesnt seem very objective to me. there as SOOOOOO many factors that go into this its impossible to say, however i dare you to outperform one of my aw1500s with a 15" type r. ;)

back to the original topic, 100 is way to much to pay for a used component set. as stated earlier, you can find them brand new on ebay et al. for that much.

on another side note: MA and Audiobahn are not really related, they are just whores of the audio world, just like pioneer and sony. it is very cheap and easy to become a retailer of these products (b-stock or not), so people take advantage of that.

edit: forgot to add, the mid level fosgate stuff (the "x" series) is absolutly terrible (in my opinion), and i prefer jensen coaxials to it. HOWEVER... you should decide based on your own ears what you like best...dont buy ANYTHING without previewing it first, if at all possible.

^^^^hell ya! the jensen girl has some major cameltoe in one of her ads. not saying i suppot any of those products though. LOL...i told my girlfriend that when looking though car audio mags the difference between a good audio company and a bad one was the skanky-ness of the models. the skankyer they are, the worse the product. ;) no models at all means the product sells itself...i.e. its good.

im sticking to what i say......i live by MA because it has performed better than anythign ive had
