interior lighting problem

My interior lights sometimes dont come on when i open the drivers side door. They always come on when the passenger door is open. How can this be fixed so they come on when the driver door is open?

first guess : the pin switch isnt grounding right ---- the screw that holds the switch in the door jam is the grounding point -- remove / clean - replace. or the switch itself could be bad

or check the contacts for the door switch, if not get a new doorswitch from satan

check to see if the button is sticking. when we painted my car the button got sprayed accidently and the overspray caused it to stick sometimes when id open my door, cleaned the paint off n it works now

Ok,..my prob is that the intieor's only come on now when the hatch is opened.
I know my door switches need to be looked at, but i am new to this car and it's just not showing itself well.
Where exactly is it?,...

The switch is locaten in the door jam on the kick panel side(right side when door is open). It is a little black round thing that sticks out approx. 1 inch. My talon is havin the same problem but i havn't checked the ground yet.

I had i the same problem, the drivers side pin switch had a bad connection. For the dome light to come when the doors open the center button on the dome light has to be pushed in

my 97 spyder does it too but it doesnt bother me, the lights in it arent to bright anyways.

i have a 2g eclipse rs and my lights only come on when i push the buttons for them. when the "Door" switch is on the light doest come on when either of the doors open. is it just the bad connection in the doors switch cause the lights work just not when the doors open.
