I thought someone on here might find this cool/useful. I built this the other night. Took about 30min and was cheap.

Cost $0.89 for the coupler, $0.75 for the clamp to hold it and I had the other stuff laying around.

Items used:
1 hose clamp
1 PVC coupler that the gauge will fit in the way you like
1 screw
1 can spray paint, color of your choice

Tools:
Screw driver, one of each kind
drill

I lined up where I wanted the pod to sit, drilled one hole thru the hose clamp and top column cover. Then simply screw the clamp to the column and then tighten the clamp over the coupler.

It wasnt ment to be super clean but after I get it the way I want it there will be loom wrapped around the hose and wires. More for funcition than looks though.. that and why spend $25 on a cup when you can spend $2-$3 on that?

i have to agree, but as you stated it wasnt all for looks, im sure it functions just as well as any other gauge holder. Props on the creativity.

Definitely an interesting way to mount a gauge. I dig it, points for creativity. Data acquisition doesn't need to be pretty. :thumb:

We need column pods for 1Gs like the 2G and Evo guys have.

I'd love to mould a three-gauge pod into the right-side of the stereo console [about where the passenger's left knee would be], that could be nice.

Pvc pipe and fiberglass will work to on custom gauge pods.

I have done this too.. I had a piller pod I had made that I tried to find pics of but I must have deleted them. I have also made ones from fiberglass that fit in the spot where the radio goes. Very time consumming but well worth the effort.
