Well, I'm wanting to install some HID's on my car (1990 GSX), because the stock headlights aren't enough for the very poor lighting on roads in my country, and I'm getting a really good price on a HID set.

The thing is, how can I install them? What kind of headlight bulbs does a Eclipse use? I believe it's a sealed headlight, so what other alternative can I have to install HID's? A friend told me that it's similar in other cars, that I have to buy a headlight assembly that would allow me to change bulbs...

Please help me, I'm not looking into actual installing and wiring info, just how I can do to make the HID bulbs fit. :thumb:

When you say the lights are sealed do you mean sealed with a hugh white rubber compound or sealed as in the light was is molded inside the housing????

Looking at the headlights on your car, I hope the HID are reflector style like in some Mercedes. I can't see projectors working, and even reflectors are not going to be that sharp through that housing.

I haven't taken them apart yet, but my guess is that they're just like this replacement part:

What would you suggest me doing?

I would try to talk to some of the 1G guys that have done the HID retro. I can't find the link I was looking for, but searching for HID* should bring up a bunch of threads about HIDs.

I forgot you guys had popup headlights, so don't mind me. Just make sure you do a proper retro, not some cheap ebay kit :thumb:

well im halfway there. mine are just halogen. the next setup will be HID though with dual projectors.

You should write up a little guide on how to do this :).
