another cigeratte lighter location?

I was wondering if there's another ciggeratte lighter somewhere in a 2G talon esi (i dont thin kthat makes a difference) just wondering if there is because im gonna do that mod put a boost gauge in the ciggeratte lighter location (no im not a smoker) i use it for my radar detector.

You can move it anywhere. Its easy. But instead of having a bulky 12 volt conector why not just hardwire your radar?

Just extend the wires that are under the cig lighter to where ever you want to relocated it to. There are 3 wires under it, power, ground one for the bulb. If you made a hole that was the same size as the factory cig lighter, you can move it anywhere you want.

I custom mounted one on the backside of my center console. Just drilled a big enough hole, extended the wiring, and voala. You do need to remove the center console to do it but you are going to have to anyways to put the boost gauge in the lighter spot. I had a volts gauge there in mine, you can see pics in my gallery.

With it on the backside of the center console I loved it since it was kinda of hidden and perfect for when I ran my laptop for dsmlink.

BTW, be creative, it can go anywhere.

Since its hard to dig change out of the ashtray I bought a 12 volt power plug from Advance for like $7 and mounted it in my ashtray with velcro. Keeps it out of site and there when I need it.

I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I'm wanting to hardwire one of those cigarette lighter splitters with a USB charger (you can find them on ebay for like $6). What I don't know is exactly how would I hardwire the cord that has the cigarette lighter adapter to it?

Ive relocated my lighter on the passenger side panel by the knee. Just drill a hole and your done. the wires reach perfectly I had to move it to put my 8inch monitor in.

Open up the cigarette end. 1 wire will go to the tip and one to the side. Cut the wires and connect the one from the tip to 12+ and the side one to ground.

I moved mine on the pop out circles that are on either side of the lower panel of the center console near your feet, any questions let me know
