Ok so I finally got it fitted, I had to actually pull the 5mph bumper off though, i'm still thinking about keeping that on there so I may have to cut some more fiberglass :( which sucks...

anyways, yeah so like it fits very nice in my opinion and i'm pretty skeptical. If anyone wants pics or a detailed list of how to do it just post and I will try to do a write up.

peace

im glad everything worked out...

but this thread is pointless without pics...

X2

You could tell us your opinion on how it looks all you want, but the thread is pointless if you just wanted to tell us it looks good to you.

might as well leave the bumper support out, how often will u hit something at 5mph, plus if something does hit you, the fiberglass will crack and break anyways... and its lighter with out it...

just an idea..

thats urethane...but i was thinking maybe get a sqaure tube and put it where the bumper is, that way I can still but this bi*** on there but also not fill up so much room behind the bumper cover...

I was thiking, unbolt the white fiberglasshard bumper piece, then cut sqaure tubing to fit, then drill holes and oblt it where the bumper was...I dunno any thoughts?

Had the same promblem w/ that 5mph bar..
I just took it off and left it off and removed the rear 5mph bumper too.. Light wieght baby...:)

any comments on the pics? I think I did a good job?

well I got it from this guy jasper on ebay for 284 shipped with insurance included....
he sent me a bumper that fit ok but was rocking upwards, I called him and he told me send it back and he exchanged it for this one...so I guess the 65 bucks it cost me to ship was included although had i known I would have just specified the level bumper when I ordered and it would have only cost 284 shipped. It's poly urethane and came with instuctions from KBD however this isn't the kind with their name stamped on it.

It was very well sanded/pretty smooth at least I had to sand it a little on the edges.
Fitment was excellent but very very tight(more tight than loose which made it difficult still)

I didn't have to cut anything, i had to drill the holes right which wasn't hard.

This is a superior qaulity bumper in my opinion...if anyone needs the guys name I got it from I can give that to you he is an excellent ebayer and ships fast as hell.

Looks good. Dont cut the fiberglass, just get a new bumper made. You have to have a bumper on the car, it is the law you know hehe? Just get a piece of "I" beam to stretch across. Thats what i did and i used to have the same exact bumper. That way you still have the bumper and you still have the blitz front end without having to do a lot of cutting. The "I" beam will work good enough.

where do you get an I beam? What length and do I need to cover it with styrofoam or something like that or can it just be a piece of metal.

and also who can tell that I don't have a bumper no one looks at my car.

Besides that, you are missing the point of the bumper. A 5mph bumper is designed to prevent ANY (well as much as possible) damage in a 5mph accident, but also REDUCE damage in a higher speed accident:

Lose your bumper, and hit something at 30mph, you can kiss everything in front of your block goodbye if not worse...

The fit looks great!

I have the bumper support on mine. I painted it black and nobody notices it. It might not do much, but you never know. Better to be safe than sorry.

I just got an I beam from the machine shop i worked at. I just got one and cut it to length. The size doesnt really matter as long as it is long enough to bolt to each side. Did you know that the bumper not only prevents damage in 5 mph wrecks, but its main purpose is to make the car "implode" on itself in order to absorb more damage? If there is no bumper the car will split in the center and the engine will be sitting in your passenger seat, along with on your lap (not good). The bumper will bend, pulling both sides together and creating the left side to push on the right side, and it will slow the impact down dramatically. That is what it is there for, and you have a really high chance of dying if not. And the cop will know when you get in a wreck and you will get a heafty ticket for driving an illegal vehicle on the road.

i'm not getting in a wreck so there is no "when" LOL...
but how much could you make me one of these I beams for to fit directly on my car...if it's too much trouble i'll make my own I just really am missing out on time right now, now heres the kicker

why do humans avoid death, when it's inevitable. (I know you will all say "duh to live longer and enjoy my life yada yada") but heres an even deeper question to trump your new answers....life is pointless no matter how long you live when you die your dead...so again, why do you try to be "safe" I just don't get it.

another question, sorry to double post, but what would be some good looking sideskirts to add to this kit? I was thinking of trying to make my own, take a big piece of sheet metal and cut it out to fit the body, then maybe fiberglass one myself? Ok ok thats totally rediculous, will the rodora's match up with the blitz? what about the invaders?

Well at least repect your car enough to keep IT safe. WHEN you wreck, you will COMPLETELY ruin another (what appears to be) perfectly good DSM.

Good luck. Suggestions given. Unsubscribe.

PM me we can work something out on the bumper. Following the rules, cant get in trouble you know. Why not go with the blitz side skirts? They would be the easiest to match dont you think? The invader ones are too rounded to match with the "jagged" aggressive look of the blitz they wont mesh right.

word, makes sense...LOL my dsm is the most abnormal there will ever be foolio...

I like my rice steamed jigga.

nah but for real I seem to have noticed a mpg drop since I got my exhaust, I actually haven't driven it hard at all but i just filled up yesterday and i've already got 154 miles to the 3/4 of a tank. Thats like really bad IMO. Is there anyway to reduce the gas, or make it run more lean or something so I can get better fuel economy?
I know I know wrong forum, the rules say, you gotta go to this forum, then back to that forum, and still get answers from the same people usually...
and I did a search! LOL
peace

Probably so you can enjoy life (and your car) for a longer period of time. I don't avoid death, but I certainly don't go out of my way to invite it. As for life being pointless or not, that's simply a matter of opinion.

As for you not getting in a wreck, I'm sure everyone else who has been in one has stated that as well. ROFL

Did you remember to attach the grounding straps to your exhaust piping? That may explain your MPG change.

Sorry i cant sell that bumper. Get banned if i do. Wish i could help you out, dont want you to wreck and kill yourself over something like that. Just buy an I beam and cut it to length thats all i can say.

grounding straps? please explain, does it have something to do with the 02 sensor? if so let me know what to look for and i'll climb under the car tonite and make sure it's on there.
