Alright so I got the components and everything inside my door so that you cannot tell it did no come factory that way. Now I want to put the amplifier in and I have a question. I am installing the amplifier in the stock amplifer position (under the passenger seat) and I was wondering if I just connected the input on the crossover to the stock wiring, I could go off the speaker wires that went to the amplifer and instead of them going to the head unit I could basically connect the wires from the harnes on the stock amplifer harnes, to my aftermarket amp and just run it like that. It would be much better and I wouldnt have to do all this work to make sure no wiring and the car looked stock running the wires from the speakers to the amp. I was hoping it would work like this

HEAD UNIT---RCA--Amplifier

Crossover---stock speaker wiring goes to the harness from stock amplifer????----Amplifier

I might just go outside and take a picture...

check the tech guides, I wrote a color chart about using the stock wiring and aftermarket crosovers to bypass the factory amp.

Problem is going to be getting any amp small enough to fit under the seat with decent power because of the VERY limited clearance.
You also need to run the individual wires for the tweeter (I assume you put the new tweeter in the OEM location) and woofer to the supplied crossovers, then with that xover to the amp.

I have an mtx 404 4-channel amp, very small and provides 35 watts rms x4 at 4 OHM. I already had it so it was free to me. Its small enough to fit under the seat. I already got the tweeters to the crossover and everything (crossover is in the door). However I hooked up the input to the regular door speaker wire. I was hoping by doing this I could cut into either the harness going to the head unit or the harness to the stock amp and just splice that or hook it directly up to my amp.

ok I see what you are saying, you aren't using the OEM speaker location on the dash (and it's wiring) for the tweeter.

yeah, just tap into the lines under the seat for your front door and rear speakers (assume you are going to amp both since it is a 4 ch.) using the supplied color chart.

Hint pull the seat out to do it, much easier, and don't forget to run RCAs to the amp from the head, and disconnect the speaker outs from what ever head you are using (the factory lines do some funky loops from teh head AND amp, so just disco all but both powers, (12+ and ACC) illumination, & ground from the head)
You don't want the external amp feeding back into the head.

What head unit are you using? If it's the Infinity sound system you will need a MITAH cable that converts the DIN input to RCA output.

If you're using an aftermarket headunit, I think these guys already got you. :thumb:

Thats what I was thinking, but since my godamn friend still has my haynes I couldnt look at how the wiring was done inside the car, and was making sure I didnt somehow blow tons of fses and relays. Thanks guys!
