This is the first time I've installed subs so I am going to be coming here with question as I go so if you all can help me that would be great.
First question on an eclipse where do you route the power wire from the battery to the amp?
Also does anyone know of a giude on wiring subs??
Thanks. :thumb:

When i did it, i just ran the wire from the amp under my back seats, under the plastic where the door is, to the front and sent the wire through the hole that I had my Boost Gauges go through.. worked out perfect went direct to battery. Just play around make some holes :)

GLUCK! :)

If you want clean professional looking installation you can get firewall bushings. Streetwires and Stinger makes them.

First question on an eclipse where do you route the power wire from the battery to the amp?

Run it thru the main harness grommet under the battery tray (remove battery and unbolt tray if you need to). You have to slit it or pucture it, and use a coat hanger or wire puller.

Then remove the kick panel, sill, rear seat and the lower rear plastic cover that runs between the backseat and door on the passenger side
You now have access to the OEM channel in the sill that runs to the back seat and the tie downs for the harness in the rear, run it thru them.

When you get to the back seat you will need to go thru the rear brace as far passengerside as possible. LOosen the rear pass trunk panel so you can pull it up a little and pull the cable into the trunk.

Don't forget a fuseholder at teh battery...
as far as subs...
most come with a wiring sheet, or look at the manufacturer websites like alpine or kicker for instructions.

IF you get confused feel free to shoot me a PM with Specs (sub RMS, # voice coils and the OHMs of each coil, # of subs, as well as the amp RMS or it's exact make and model Number and I will tell ya how)

Don't forget a fuseholder at teh battery... and try not to over kill it. 10 amps over the amp fuse total is enough.
I like the MINI ANL. (aka MIDI/AFC) lower righthand corner of the pic)

ultra compact (even smaller than the little AGU (glass)) fuses with sizes up to 200 amps. Make sure you check with your local stereo shop, if they carry them and buy a spare. MY mini anl holder is is about the size of my thumb and simple black plastic so it looks as OEM as 2 ga wire can get. SINce they BOLT in there is less resistance and they are less likely to blow for no dang reason as compared to the AGUs

MAXI fuses are getting easier and easier to find at "Poopboys" and "OWW!toe zone", so they are a good choice.
I use maxi's in my rear fuse/distribution block sized at teh OEM amp rating, then bumped the "internals" by 5 amps for twins and 10 amps for singles so the maxi will blow first.
