Interior feeling

for me not so much as a old feeling but rather a cheap feeling considering looking at alot of base models cars these days 2000+ cars have nicer looking interiors every year so but i love my half black 2g interior and having too many fun converting it to all black so plus interiors from the 90's are easier to take apart and work on.IMO

it's more of a cheap feeling, and there's a reason for it, out cars were meant to be 'econo' sports cars, and didnt get enough 'plush' feeling in the interior as a side effect... now, if the dash and door panels were covered with leather, with leather seats, and little less plastic here and there, I feel it would help CONSIDERABLY, it's just there's TOO MUCH plastic as it is and that makes it feel cheap.

I have leather doors and seats and everything, and my interior still feels cheap to me.

yes this is where my dillima is with the seats i want leather seats really bad but i hate the 2g stock seats and refuse to have them upholstered so ill have ugly uncomfortable leather seats and i dont want some sparcos cause my car isn;t a race car so.... but i think a nice set of evo 8 seats would look purtty

I went from driving an 86 Honda Prelude base model to a 95 Eclipse GS-T so at first it was like a brand new car to me(I bought it in 2004, with lots of mods done already). And like already mentioned, many base model cars seem to have a nicer feeling interior nowadays. I rented a 2004 Ford Focus and I liked the interior more OMG Don't get me wrong, I love the style of the 2g's interior, the dash itself isnt too bad, but the area about the HVAC really doesnt do it for me. The gauges are getting boring too, but I don't want to swap them because 1g and 2g eclipses in Canada arent very common and I always get someone who wants to disprove that its an eclipse by saying its a talon. I tried the carbon-vinyl dash kit and honestly I've only had it on for a month and it just looks like damn cheap checkered stickers. I'm thinking about doing fiberglassing w/ crabon fiber accents and some new carpet material for the floor, headliner, and rear seats but that won't be for awhile if I even do it at all. :toobad:

Pretty much an echo. I think the styling's okay, the ergonomics are better than the 1G (you can reach the 2G radio, even if it is hiding behind the shifter), but my god the squeaky, creaky, crappy-sounding plastic trim is just awful. And, the hollow pushbuttons that don't work all that well pretty much suck, too.
I prefer having the sunroof, window and door lock buttons in the console, too. But, oh well.

But I think the styling is holding up pretty well.

how do you think us with the 1g's feel?

Old.
The 2g boys are just starting to feel it. Mine still has a good smell when I run the vents but I guess the whole point is that age is inevitable.
