Hey all.

95 eclipse n/t

So I got a new CD player, and I ripped out the OEM one. I have a few questions, and one urgent question

1. When I pulled out the OEM one it had two larger black cords with the words Mitsubishi Auido on it or something similiar. What are these two cords? I assume speakers?

2. The CD deck I got...only one of the black cords fits into it...the one with the square throngs. The octagon one doesnt really fit anywhere into it. Problem?

3. This is my "urgent" problem. When I was trying to figure out what exactly the cords were I thought it would be smart to plug the black cords back into the OEM one. But, I hadn't planned on the Anti-Theft system in my radio. So at first it read "CODE" and you could use the numbers to guess the four digit code...logically i guessed 0000, and 0123 a few times. But eventually it read "OFF" and now we can't do anything with it at all.

We are at a complete loss as of what to do, and I've tore out about 1/2 my eclipe's interior trying to chase wires. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY appreciated.

Aslo, note that I DO NOT have an owners manual for the car. I bought it used in Nov. 04' and the private owner didn't include an owners manual. I do however have a 1995 Eagle Talon tSI AWD owners manual that I got from my g.f...but it doesn't seem to tell.

Thanks in advanced.

Here is something you can do to fix your stereo problem.
1. pull stock stereo out and get model numbers off it.

2. call your local dealer(service department) and get your code.

3. plug in your stock stereo and disconnect the battery(reset the computer)

4. once you get your code, reconnect the battery and turn on the stereo, once that is done hit the power button and the code should show up on the screen.

5. enter the code and push tape(if you have the cd/tape player) and your stereo should turn back on.

P.S
one cord goes to stock amp
the other is your power lines

Thanks for your help 98 GSX.

Note for anyone who has this problem, 98GSX says to disconnect the battery and reset the computer, but that doesn't help the situation at all. What you need to do to get it off 'Off' in the anti-theft deal is put your key in the ignition at ACC for 90mins w/o interuption and make it so your radio says OFF. Then hit the on button and hit in your code.

Again, thanks for the help. Problem solved.

(Side note: I drove a Talon AWD tSI tonight, first time ive ever driven a turbo...wow..so fun/impressive)
