Tailight Swap

I found a nice body kit for an eclipse on a website, and it says that if you change the plymouth laser's tailights to an eclipses, that the rear bumper of the kit would fit...it says that this is the only mod i need to do to the car to get it to fit. anyone have any information on this tailight swap?

93 laser...kit for 92-94 eclipse

what info exactly are you looking for? if it says u need eclipse tails, then just get 92-94 eclipse tails. you can find them at a junk yard or just check out dsmtrader.com theres always some on there.

the kit that I will be ordering comes w/ the eclipse tails because they are needed for the kit to work. The info I am looking for is how to do the tailight swap...what modifications are needed to my Laser to make the eclipse tails fit

No mod necessary. They'll install the same way the Laser's tails install.

If you read the ** it says this:

"Since the Talon and Laser taillight scheme are different than the Eclipse, those taillights will not bolt directly in. The easiest way for those lights would work for a Talon or Laser is if you also get the Eclipse rear bumper, which will line right up with the taillights. Of course, we offer a body kit for that year Eclipse, so the most obvious way to get an Eclipse rear is to buy the one we sell."

I know it says you need to "Make appropriate modifications to the car to be able to install Eclipse taillights." if you read the *. But the only mod you need to do is take off all of the Laser tail lights. In fact if you take off the rear bumper, tail lights, side skirts, and front bumper its the same exact car Eclipse, Talon, and Laser. Its cool to here you like the kit though. In 1999 (before they recently took on new management) I contacted Andy's AutoSport because they used say "if you can dream it up we can make it." So I asked them if they could make the same front bumper they make for their 2G for my Laser, only round the corners a little more (it was called bomb kit back then). So they charged me a lot of money to make it from scratch $1500, for just the front bumper. They offered to make the whole kit for $3000. I turned them down cause I was shure they'd make it to sell anyhow. And they did, so now I can get the rest of the kit much cheaper if I ever want it. They'd have never made that kit ever if I wasn't a sucker and paid a fortune to have them make that front bumper. Also here's a web site that copied the kit and sells it for a lot less money ($699 for the whole kit without tail lights)

Thanks. Its gonna' have a complete color change soon though. When the engine was out of it for the rebuild I had it towed to my buddies house (6 car garage) while his dad was out of town and we sprayed the engine compartment. Its wicked dirty right now but this is what it currently looks like, still have things to touch up. Glacier White (pearl white commonly seen on the 3000 GT).

never mind...i have been reading so much #@%#@%#@%#@% about the 2.0 dohc taht my head hurts...and alos found out i ahve the 4g63 or something like that instead of the 420a i originally thought.
