gasoline needle doesn't light up

Pull your gauge cluster out and find the bulb that goes behind the gas guage. My guess is that its blown out. I used a laser pointer to shine through the holes to see what each bulb illuminated.

is it a #74 bulb?
Yes. While you're at it, grab an extra and swap it out with the damned hi-beam indicator. I'm sure it's the Feds who think you need to be blinded by the dashboard while driving in the dark. Oh, and instead of buying one, just take the one out of the seatbelt warning.

The hi-beam light is larger, but the circuit board will hold the smaller bulb just fine.

The one of yours that's "out" is probably just loose.

Of course, now would be a good time to explain that you're running reverse faces or indiglo or some other wacky stuff.
