Awhile back I wrote that I had recieved my Pioneer AVIC-N1. Well I finally got around to taking some pictures of it installed into the car. For those of you that don't know the Pioneer AVIC is a in-dash DVD/MP3/CD/Performance monitor/Navigation. It's a 6.5in touchscreen that can tell me my turning Gs, braking and acceleration Gs, slope, car voltage, as well as give me directions to the nearest hotspots I did all the install on it and made it for you can watch movies as I drive. The hideaway unit was put right under the player since we have no space under our seats. Well enjoy and let me know what you think

Just had to throw this in. This is the current mileage on my 92. I've put on 7,000 miles on it in the 6 months I have owned it. Damn time flies.

I was wondering how the N1 would look in DSM dash. It sticks out a little far for my liking, but I guess it kinda has to. Can you do a VGA(Computer)-in on one of those? It'd make a nice little carPC touchscreen if you could do it.

Actually when I first put it in it didn't stick out quite as far. The only problem was this caused the screen to rest against the AC controls. So I moved it out a little further when I installed the XM which made it so it wouldn't rest against the dash plus put it at a slight angle which made it easier to see. The antennas I don't like a whole lot either. One for the GPS one for the XM. When it was just the GPS it wasn't as bad but now with the XM one there it looks cluttered. Problem is there isn't a whole lot of places to mount the antennas where they can see the sky plus make it so you don't have to tear apart the whole car to run the wire to the headunit. I'm going to see what I can do about it though as soon as I am done working on the TA.

There is an AUX input on it but of course those are RCAs so unless you could get some kind of RCA to serial adapter I doubt you could run a computer on it. Still I plan on hooking in the Playstation when it comes to those really long road trips where the passenger can stay entertained. That's also why I made it so you can watch movies while driving. Still those performance gauges can be distracting

Actually- if you got a Video card with a S-Video output, there are S-Video to RCA converters out there.

my comp is ###. i looked at upgrading my vid card and its liek nto gonna happen. everythign i have is on board and sux.
