And jersey winters suck for our cars or any car for that matter. With that said, what should i do to my paint to help protect it a lil better then it just going through the winter with nothing. I drive it to school, work, and wherever rain or shine. What waxes and whatnot should i use for the best protection against winter?

I was thinkin the same thing buti would say go wash it really nice then wax the hell out of it ! that would seem logical ya know get a nice layer over the paint so the rock salt and sludge and all doesnt F anything up...Pa suck too

My DSM's already in storage :( Now I have to worry about getting a 2025 pound Toyota through an Iowa winter..

any wax is better than no wax. just use whatever you have already. Just make sure to do 2 or 3 coats. If you haven't gotten one already, get yourself a RANDOM ORBIT buffer.

If it isn't a random orbit buffer, don't use it unless you really know what you are doing. Oh and as far as the wax, use a wax that cakes when it dries.

I know maguiars and a few other companies now make a wax that is really easy to put on and wipe off; don't use those in the winter. They really do work great but as far as protecting from the elements IMO they won't work as well as the stuff you have to work into the paint.

You guys definately have the right idea in waxing the car before the winter weather. What wax to use is a matter of taste, much like motor oil, everyone will have one that they swear by. Your top of the line would be Zaino bros., this is a super high end wax that results in an unbelieveable shine if you have a bunch of money and time on your hands. On the other hand you have your cheaper waxes such as turtle wax or that NuFinish. I recently waxed 3 vehicles; I used Meguiars Gold Class on the Eclipse, Diamond 55 on a 95 Jeep and Eagle One Wet on an 02 Jeep. The best surface was left on my car from the gold class, the next best was the Eagle One and dead last was the Diamond 55. I would recommend the Gold Class, I mean it is manufactured by a company that has been in the Wax business for over 75 years. The stuff seems to last a long time and definately protects your paint. I believe that Gold Class is between their "cleaner/wax" and their Pure Carnuba. So if this is going to become a Wax War then my vote is for Meguiars Gold Class.
