How many ounces does it take to paint a whole car?

Pff. Couple of gallons per coat, starting with primer and through clearcoat.

I can paint a 1g with less than 2 qts. of color. because 1 qt or color reduces most times to 2 qts sprayable. so if you go buy 2 qts. of PPG it reduces 1:1 so you get 1gal sprayable...primer/sealer will be dependant on the car. It would intel how much body work is needed, but clear you can expect to use about 3 qts if it mixes 4:1.

I have to agree with Evil X, I used about 2 quarts (unmixed) to spray the outside of a my car, that was glasurit 2:1. and 3 quarts of clear unmixed at 2:1:10%. The actual amount of straight base you will need will more than likely depend on your mixing ratio. The higher the first number the less paint you will have when it is catalyzed. Spraying a 1g with the two tone would probably only require about a quart and a half of straight base.
