I got some new wheels a few days ago. Got em on today. Let me know what you think. 16x7 Rota Slipstreams in flat black.

Oh man, I love it!

I was soo close to getting some Slipstreams but ended up going with Subzero's instead. Nonetheless, very sick! :D

That's really cool looking.
But, I know the Rota Slipsteams are modeled after the Spoon wheels. Spoon wheels are for Honda's? Kinda is weird to me, having replica Spoon wheels on a DSM. I don't know, someone please correct me.
They do look nice though. :thumb:

The spoon wheels have wider spokes actually. I could care less if someone thinks that they look weird on my car, at 13.5 pounds a piece and the price I paid for em, I'm not arguing. :thumb:

Forgive me as this wil probably sound mean....

I like how the tire fills the wheel well, and I like the rims. But the size of the side wall looks odd. Seems like a 17 with low profile tires would have looked better. but i do like the style of rim.

But You gotta remember this is coming from a guy that still has the stock rims on his car...

MIke :laser:

They are stock size tires. 215/55ZR16 Wynstar Exocet. It was the cheapest tire I could find. I could care less about traction and it's summer all year round here so winter performance wasn't an issue. They are made by Michelin and sold under the different name supposedly. The tire actually is about flush with the lip of the wheel, but the wheels are black so they blend in making it hard to tell where the wheel starts and the tire begins. In contrast here's a pic of my car with the same size tires on the stock wheels. The stock wheels are an inch narrower than the Rotas so the tire bulges out even more on the stockies than on the new wheels. It was almost dark when I took that new pic. I'll take some pics in the daytime next week after I actually clean my car. I don't think it's been washed in like 6 months.

Nice wheels. I was considering a set of Slipstreams for track use, in 16" even - but I'd like them wider. The other thing about 16" rims is that if I ever want to go to 13" brakes (in my plans), then I'd need 17" anyway.

BTW - I dig the Galant 'GS-X' badge & your placement of it - very subtle, and unique. :thumb:

Where did you buy them, syndicate13, and would you recomend the supplier?

Thanks, no one ever notices the badge. I think I've had one person ask about it since I put it on there a year ago. When I bought my car it didn't have anything on the back. No Mitsubishi, no GSX, no Eclipse on the center. I always wanted to put something there but coud never figure out what. I had an AWD badge from a Saturn VUE there but I didn't really like it, at least not on my car. It would look great on a black car with a painted center piece though. I was browsing on here and someone posted some pics of a Galant GS-X they bought and I saw the badge. I went to the local dealer and remarkably they can still get them. I don't want anyone jocking my car though so I won't give out the part number. :shhh:

I bought em from a local guy. DSM is his name on here, you know the 412whp/395wtq GST from Tampa. Got a killer deal on them and they are practically brand new. As far as buying them brand new, Machiii.net has great prices on them and free shipping.

I have a question that red car is a GSX? I read somewhere, I think VFAQ.com that the lower grey skirts were only on GS-T's or did I miss something? O yea and those are some very nice wheels love the fat tires I will probably getting something similar nice pick! :thumb:

Last time I had it on a lift it had a driveshaft and rear end. They two tone of color on top and Logan Silver Metallic on the bottom appplies to all 95-96 turbo models.

The rest of the car looks stock. There's nothing done to the exterior except the wheels.

GSX's have the gray strip as well.

Mine has it.

Nice wheels!

I'm confused, you have one of the cleanest DSMs ever- but whats up w/ your sig? is that how it looks now? Please Lord NO

That's when he was going for the Fast and Furious look. Haha. It used to look like that. Now it's wingless, stock body, CF hood, CF lip, and riding jackstands. Hey Jorje, your new wheels come in yet?
